Default Lake Day 2008 (Saturday, 6/28)

The 7th Annual S2K Lake Day and the 6th at Tees Aquatic Complex on Lake Tyler East is upon us. Make plans to attend! In the past, this has always been one of the best social events of the year, and "what happens in Arp, stays in Arp".

When: Saturday, June 28th 2008

Lake Day Activity Options:
- Lunch (brauts, sides and desert). Temming's bringing/cooking.
- Lake tour aboard one of the boats
- Tubing and skiing aboard Al's boat
- Jet skiing
- Parasailing
- Canoeing (possible)
- Sun bathing/swimming/reading/socializing
- Water Slide
- Volleyball (possible)
- Darts (possible)
- Saturday late afternoon drive on the twisties around the lake
- Dinner in Tyler
- Travel back home

Travel Schedule: We'll meet at Starbucks just north of the Galleria
(intersection of Alpha and Noel Roads) at 8:30am and will leave promptly at 9:00am. Maps and directions will be available in case we get separated. Taking the scenic route, it will take nearly 2 hours to get to the lake house, as it is 100 miles east of Dallas. If you are running late or get lost, call David on the wireless at 214.789.1001 or Al (if you are meeting us in Tyler) at 817-366-3186.

Note that Mr. Tee's will be meeting us in Tyler to take us on to the Lake House. If it is easier for you to meet us in Tyler, let us know and Al will let you know the when and where.

Cost: We will be taking donations for lunch and miscellaneous expenses such as gas for the boats. $20 per person should help cover costs. Any and all donations however will be appreciated.

What you should bring:
- Swimsuit
- Towels
- Sunscreen
- Floats
- Folding Chairs
- Beverages
- Change of Clothes

Feel free to bring a friend or significant other! To help us get a count for food, please reply if you plan on attending preferably on or before Thursday, June 26th. Note that you don't have to drive an S or even be a club member to join us.

IMPORTANT: The club nor any of it's members are responsible for your wellbeing during this event. If you attend this event, it is strickly at your risk. Everyone will be required to sign a waiver.

Jo and I are looking forward to this as I hope you are as well.

I think it will be too hot for volleyball, but I fixed my ping-pong table and its ready to go. Both canoes are functional, as well as the boat and jetski. Eddie's boat is all OK and ready to parasail (thus the damage waiver ).

Remember, Tyler is "DRY" , so if you want any adult beverages, stop on the way in (usually in Terrell) and get what you want. I like Modelo Negro by the way .

I'm thinking about making dinner reservations at a new "South American" restaurant on Hwy 64E. How does that sound?

Looking forward to it. Fun, fun , fun.

Al

well, it looks like we will be able to meet everyone that morning after all. Amy's friend is now on bed rest and most likely will have the baby very early, so the shower has been postponed until July.

I should have the new sway bars on the G by then, so I'm looking forward to a spirited drive into East Texas! We'll see everyone at Starbucks that morning. looking forward to it!

I checked out Villa Montez today at lunch and it seemed perfect for our dinner plans. It is a "Latin" restaurant, but you can get you typical tex-mex items, just with a better presentation and an apparent quality improvement. See their website at: http://www.villamontez.com/

Regards,

Al
