I'm planning on going! If no one else from OKC ends up going, I could meet you somewhere off I-40 (e.g. Checotah, Henryetta, etc.) so you don't have to roll solo. Also, the some folks from the Ark-La-Tex group are planning a drive/meet to Hot Springs that same weekend (Sunday, August 24th). Instead of heading home from Mena on Saturday, I'm thinking about meeting up with them in Hot Springs since it's only a two-hour twisty jog east of Mena. Then head towards home on Sunday via Hwy 7 north towards Russellville. So basically, it would go someshing like this (routes may vary):

Friday - Tulsa to Talihina
Saturday - do the Talimena drive (Talihina to Mena) then from Mena, head over to Hot Springs
Sunday - head home via Hwy 7 north thru Russellville

It all really depends on who all goes and want the attendees/participants wanna do, so any feedback would be immensely appreciated!

Oklahoma attendees so far:

1. JulieU (Julie)
2. Gooster (Steve)
3. Spiro55 (Rob)
4. DirtyBird (Mike)
5. Rollinx25 (Gabe)
6. humbles2k (Enrique)
7. my red S (Chad)

8/21/08 Update: Let's meet at the McDonald's in Henryetta around 10am. It's a little over 2 hours from Henryetta to Talihina, so that'll put us in Talihina about 12:30-ish and Mena around 2pm or 3pm. Then those who want to return home have ample time to do so and those of us continuing on to Hot Springs will have some leisure time to do whatever we wish.

We made the Talahina run on our own last Spring & it was AWESOME so have been looking forward doing it again with a "pack".

btw - Recently made the Hot Spings to Russellville during a business trip via Hwy 7 . It was great even in an Impala (company car) so I could only imagine how much fun it'd be in the S2K...

How early would we need to be in Talahina on Sat. since we're not sure we're free Friday nite?

Guess I was a little vague, there.

So, nothing's going on Saturady am? Just Talihina to Mena beginning @ noon? That's just a little > 60 miles (approx.. 90 minutes).

Just didn't wanna miss anything!

Sorry... Just meant we'd be dissapointed if we missed anything (just because we didn't find out about it until too late).

Actually noon's probably a really good time for us since it'll take us about 3 hours to get to Talahina.

Appreciate the update!
