Default L-X's install-High End built by EMMA Head Judge

Here's what I did as preparation for the hifi install:

Doin it the cheap way, until the 9887 will be available in Germany...

matches the ambient pretty good

unfortunately only one bad pic @darkness

Let's come to the most important thing

Stealth-Installation

-->
postman arrived again...

This replaced the 9871RR that has done a good job during the waiting for the 9887R. Illumination can be chosen from red/amber , blue, green.

Better display
ipod-playlist scrollable in 3 lines
Digital Sound Processor
IMPRINT Technology
Even the steering remote adapter plugs in

All in all, the perfect Headunit for the S2k.

Why?

I'm still planning the Stealth-installation together with my new installer, an "EMMA Head Judge".
The whole system will be invisible, with no loss of trunk space and highend sounding.
2 8" Atomic Woofers, DLS or Genesis amps, additional battery,...

-->

July 08 - first step for the hifi-install

My claims:
- invisible install
- not more than 50 kilos extra-weight
- no space loss in the trunk

Stage 1:

couple of hours later:
done.

Today we will go on with the tweeters...

will be continued.

Test fitting the tweeters

Final stage is planned for next Tuesday... final finish and paintjob in mat black. Next we will go on with the speaker chassis.

Looks like a cool place for the tweeters. How are you going to finish them? Texture coat and paint? to maybe a nice vinyl wrap?

we'll paint them flat black so they match the original doorpanel part they are fixed to.

This week we dealt with what is often neglected: Power Supply
After hours and hours of comparing this and that, the components were chosen and ordered right away.

Our choice fell on parts of Connection Audison.

To keep the clean OEM-look even under the hood, we'll install these:

Connection Audison battery terminal +

1x 53mm

It's done.
First part, the front speakers are ready.
Pix from Thursday evening.

Speaker adapters made of multiplex - oem "speaker " in the background...

installed:

the new woofer

absolutely invisible:

tweeter housings

What time is it? Hmm, 4am in the morning, let's go to BurgerKing to discuss the next days agenda...

After another hour on friday, this is the result.
Therefore I decided to take some pix with the EOS:
I love these pods!

Can't get enough of them:

With doors closed, only the tweeters themselves are visible.

Pretty unobtrusive, isn't it.

Although there isn't any amp atm, the sound is very nice already. Awesome low- and brilliant high range. Unbelievable, what a difference a proper install of only a system on an Alpine HU makes over the oem setup.

Next step on Tuesday: Wiring...
