Default Any cigar aficionados?

Just wondering who here really knows their cigars. I've always been a hookah person, have been smoking for years and consider myself an expert. Just recently started enjoying cigars and want to buy a humidor and a box of mid-priced cigars to enjoy in the evenings.

Any suggestions? I like fairly mild flavor with slight earthy taste.. preferably less than $10 each. I just had a Punch double corona last night I enjoyed, but I know there is lots for me to learn still. I enjoy torpedoes, but they have ranged from really harsh to too mild for my taste. Where would you suggest someone starts?

I am a HUGE cigar fan. I smoke between 3 and 5 premium cigars a month.

Rocky Patel Cigars are my total favorite cigars. He has multiple blends. I would have to say my favorites of his are his "Signature" (amazing) and his "Vintage 90 and 92's". His "Fusion" blend is very nice as well. The vintage blends have a Maduro (darker) wrapper, where the Signatures and Fusions have a Lighter Conneticut type wrapper.

I have also enjoyed a few Cusano brand cigars but I haven't smoked enough of them to really talk about them in detail like I can Rocky Patels.

Oh and how can I forget my 2nd fav's (eventhough I have to be in a mood to smoke them) Drew Estates "Acid" brand cigars. Multiple types of blends that have a total different smoke and taste. You'll have to check their site out to get into a full description of some of the blends they have. But they have a cigar called a "Kuba Kuba" and it's a pretty strong but tasty cigar. Check them out. Some of the Drew Estates are worth enjoying at least once or twice b/c of how unusual they are from other brands and blends.

Lastly, I am dying to the the Nub brand cigars. They aren't too long but sounds like the blends and sweet spots of the cigars are really accentuated with that brand. We'll see.

Smoke on....

so far so good (Macanudo & Rocky Patel)

Dan, nub FTW - tried my 1st one last weekend.

I am quite fond of CAO myself along with La Gloria Cubana, Montecristo, Fonseca & AVO. The bigger the ring gauge the better for me. I could name quite a bit more, but those seem to be my regulars...

I nice step up would the Zino Platinum series (about $30.00 ea) & of course Davidoff

+1 for La Gloria Cubana

One I ABSOLUTELY love, and is CHEAP, are Gispert Churchills. Warning though; if you're a heavy flavor/Maduro-style cigar smoker, you're not going to like these quite as much. VERY light, spicy, a fair amount of light vanilla and spice. EXCELLENT draw, and $6.99 at BevMo for the churchills.

Their robustos and coronas are also good (the rubustos come in at $4.99!)

Another new (to me) I tried 2 months ago was the Esteban Carreras 1961

For the budget end of it

Gran Habano are delicious. Really up there even if compared to cigars costing 2 or 3x as much.

Try the #3 to start off.
