Here's the scoop on the accommodations for Sac2kDays.

I called around to a lot of places along the North Shore of Lake Tahoe, and basically, the only place large enough to accommodate us all is the Hyatt, and sadly they only have 13 rooms available for that night. We really don't want to touch Southshore that weekend, so Blair and I discussed staying in Reno, which is only 30 minutes from Tahoe, and Blair knows a killer route to get us there. Here's what we've done:

I am close to sealing up a deal for several rooms at the Hilton in Reno. Rates will be $119 per night. I tried to do better, but Reno and Tahoe have a lot of things going on that weekend, so there wasn't much room to budge on the rates. In addition, it is far too short notice to put together any dinner-type of thing, but as a consolation, they do have 8 restaurants, a night club, and everything you can think of on premises. They are willing to arrange secure parking for us all and keep us separate from everyone else, so we won't have to worry about leaving our cars parked somewhere .

The idea we have is to make this easy for everyone to plan/budget, and to make it so no one is on the hook for anything. You don't have to commit to EVERYTHING just to go have a good time with us. If you wish to stay with us at the Hilton, GREAT!! If all you wish to do is attend the drive, we'd love to have you, and you can go home on Saturday. I should have all the final details worked out tomorrow, and I'll post here as soon as I know what's up. Thank you for listening.

Hey Station/Blair: You might want to try Carson City. There is a Blues Festival going on that weekend which is why everthing is so high and booked in Reno.

Did someone say Blues??

Sorry, but mentioning a Blues Festival is not the best way to discourage me from wanting to go to Reno.
