Default Like hitting redline at 6000rpm

If i start the car and try to vtec it before its warmed up it wont let me go over 6000rpms

its like it won't let me vtec it for a couple minutes.

is that normal if not how can i fix it?

i know i should let it warm up anyways but i want to know if its something i should worry about.

Thank You

Yes that is normal. Needs to warm up to almost 3 bars before you can vtec. Let it warm up!!
That is just a safety measure built into the car. Does not damage anything when you hit that however.

Be very worried: you car is being driven by someone who wants to drive hard before letting it warm up. ;-)

If you don't let it warm up you might blow something; premature vtec might cause some unwanted conditions

It's actually your brake pads sticking to your rotors from rusting the night before. At 6000 RPM they seize onto your rotors due to the buildup of rust particles between the pads and rotors. It releases when you slow down
