Default Made me a shift knob

Got 2' of Delrin rod from McMaster.

Drilled, tapped, and chucked.

My first attempt.

Fits and shifts nicely.

Got bored and made another one.

They work nicely. I just tapped the Delrin - didn't use a threaded insert, so we'll see how long they last. Speak of tapping them, I'm doing something wrong - the holes are not centered, which is odd, I figured turning off the run-out would auto-center them...

Got a foot of Delrin left over. Anyone want a bespoke shift knob? Let's see, to cover my costs and my time in making one, I'd need $100 at least - only twice what they cost online

Great idea. Delrin should be cooler to the touch on those hot days than the aluminum knobs a lot of us have.

I made another one that sits considerably lower (but it's longer, so total height remains the same). Countersinking isn't easy, because that tap I have is not very long.
