Holidays in France anyone?
We wish to do again what we did in France last year, spending a fortnight driving around in late august/early september when the weather is still nice but not excessively hot.
We travelled fairly light, with two soft bags for our clothes, we brought the tonneau, yet still managed to bring home 24 bottles of wine!!!
Would people be interested in meeting up somewhere in France while over there on their own holidays? I think it too difficult to arrange an extended tour covering most of our main holiday, but if enough people wanted to basically do their own touring in France, all could agree to meet up at an some location over one, two, three days or whatever. The beauty of this would be time flexibility, some would be at the start of their holidays while others could be near the end of theirs.
Some suggestions are the Puy de Dome region, the motorway from Issoire to Montpelier, and the Gorges of Verdon in Haut Provence. we travelled there last year, and enjoyed some excellent driving and scenery as well as good food, wine and weather, plus loads of interest in our car. A notable feature of these locations were the lack of any GB or IRL cars, all we saw were NL and B stickers (esp. in the Gorges of Verdon )
OK let's hear it folks.
This post is also started as a thread in the UK section but I wouls ask that the european thread be used as the main i.e. the most up to date thread.

Hi Heli,
I think this is a great idea and was in fact already mentioned by some people when we had the Europe meet in Barcelona. However I would think we should keep it to the northern of France as this would enable a maximum of people to join (people from France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, UK and Germany).
Also such a meeting would require some good organisation skills. We need some people really involved in such a project which will obviously take a lot of time. If this is the case I would be glad to join and help organising the event.
Victor.
