Hi all, I've been hanging around these forums for years, and finally had the opportunity to become an owner a few months ago. I bought a new '08 Chicane Silver with the black interior, and have been having a ball with it!

Like many here, I wondered what I'd do when it came time to mount a front plate. I live in California, and they really are cracking down on people not having a front plate. I wanted to mount it to the lower lip, but didn't want to block air flow to the radiator, so I built a hinged mount, that is weighted at the bottom. When I'm stopped, it stands up fairly straight, but at speed, it lays down (hopefully not enough to get me cited!)

Here's a link to video I shot of it, hope you enjoy.

I did something similar on my miata. Where did you mount the hinge on the S? did you drill new holes?

I hate to burst your bubble but California law says it must be fixed and non movable.
