Default Just tripled my torque. Real talk.

I impulsively traded in my beloved AP1 for a C6 recently. I was seriously considering the inline pro gt35R kit and ems to get to 450rwhp which is where I ultimately wanted to be. After deep reflection, I decided it was not the direction I wanted to head in.

I want 400tq at 3000rpm. I want power in every gear. That is where I'm at for daily driving and I found the C6 to best suit my needs. It's 3 times the motor(6.0L) does 0-60 in 4.5 and tops out at 186mph. I still wasn't convinced at that point. When I found out my insurance was considerably less for the Vette, I couldn't resist.

Most guys with these cars are old. When they can finally afford them, they're almost too old to enjoy them. So I figure why not buy one when I'm 25, pay it off by 30 (when I'm possibly ready to have kids) and either trade it in for the next best thing or keep it as a fun weekend car.

I love the S2000. But it wasn't suiting my personal automotive goals. I considered the CR and the Nismo 350Z - but for near same price I could have the 06 C6 which is absolutely the best bang for the buck out there. Under 40K with 400bhp and unlimited potential. I got it fully loaded with Z51 suspension, nav, ect. With just I/H/E and a cam swap; it's at 450-500rwhp and still gets 32-35 mpg on the freeway.

I want another S2K in the future. It is an amazingly well balanced beautiful car.

you're not getting 32-35mpg...not even if you're in 6th going 40mph.

But nice car! I drove a C5 and the only thing I loved was the engine...not enough to buy the car. I hear the C6's are much improved.

It does get that mpg, even cruising at 70 mph - because of the tall 6th gear. It even has a feature which shows you what mpg you are recieving at that current moment.

Thats a sweet car, congrats. The gas mileage is a bit optimistic, but hey its already really good for a 6.0 v8.

That is significantly better than I've heard any LSx Vette owner claim.

Stop and go in the city and around town is around 17mpg. I'm not claiming 30+ is what I average, just on the freeway.

low 30s mpg on freeway seems pretty realistic to me. you can get impressive milage out of those LSx v8s with tall gears.

Wait, you're getting 30+ even with a cam swap? That doesn't sound right.

Maybe not a cam swap, but I talked to a guy who comes into the bank I work at frequently, and he said on his way to reno (from the bay area) he averaged something like 31-32 mpg going around 75 the entire way. They are reachable numbers, just like you CAN get 35mpg in the S2000, reachable, but not always easy
