Could someone post a scan from the manual on the correct procedure for lowering the HID low beams. Mine are shining way too high. I'm blinding the other drivers. I did a search and someone posted a link, but it has expired. The other posts talk about adjusting a star washer or screw. I'd like to do it right. I've already checked and the spring spacers were correctly removed by the dealer. Tanks in advance. Melissa tanks you too!

Basically look behind each headlight assembly (you may have to remove the coolant res. on the left side) from the engine compartment. You'll see an unusual washer held onto the light assembly by a small bolt. The unusual washer looks like a large star lockwash with the pins bent down. There will be a slot formed by a "U" shaped piece of plastic. Insert a phillips with a long shaft into the slot and turn. The edges of the screwdriver will drive the pins on the washer and turn it.

I lowered the beam also, I think about 5 clicks.

Turn screwdriver counterclockwise to lower angle.

Wirejock,

Try adjusting your driver side first. You may not have to do anything to the passenger side. Try aiming your lights at a wall and notice the step in each beam on the left side. If you can adjust the stepped portion of the beam out of the eyes of oncoming drivers you will not sacrifice too much of the distant portion. If you adjust too low you will quickly outrun your headlights. Even when lowered you may get a flash from other drivers since the HIDs are still very bright and tend to bounce into their eyes whenever you hit bumps.
I only had to lower the driver side lamp until the higher part fell slightly below the "step" of the passenger beam. If you lose your printout check your owner's manual, it should be in there.

Thanks svann, I 'll try this weekend. I have already noticed the driver's side is lower than the passenger. It may be ok. I may not be used to how intense these lights seem.

When you get it close to where you want it, put something in front of one light (Like hold your jacket there) and you can see the others adjustment. The adjusting screw moves the assembly in and out to adjust up-down. There is also a left-right adjustment but inless your highs are kittywampus you should leave it alone. I suggest an 8mm 6 point socket to do the adjustment. Remember, L to R and R to L. Turn left to raise and right to lower.

Thanks Harvey. I'll try that procedure at work. We have a fairly dark, level underground parking lot. Based on the links, it looks like they may be too high.

Don't adjust them just yet. I'm willing to bet that they are correct. Yes they are brighter, but the are probably not aimed too high. The "notch" between the left and right beams is also correct. Do not adjust up or down to match. I'll meet you tonite and we can compare (lights, that is) to see what they look like.

Remember, both beams have a notch on the left to lower the beam aim for oncoming trafic. Ideally the left beam will be a little lower than the right (both parts including the notch or step should be lower than the right side beam.)If you attempt to match the right side chances are the left beam will be too high. I just lowered my left beam as much as safety would allow. Adjusting too low will not light your path far enough for highway speeds. Much higher and you will get the occasional hi-beam flash from oncoming drivers. I set them where I'm comfortable and just return "the flash" with my aftermarket "xenon" brights.
Should you choose to upgrade or replace your brights be sure to see the posts for hi-beam replacement. It's a little trickier than adjusting the HIDs.
