here are some pics of the radiator cooling plate by carbing, not sure if it does anything, but i think it looks pretty good, and i plan to cut it instead of the stock radiator cover when i get my mugen cai, see the pic below, it was pretty hard to find information on it or on the company, even though it seems like everyone in japan has one or a carbing roll cage, anyhow thanks to shamu and aj-racing i have one now

the only problem is that i can't read the instructions, and with it on, i can't close the hood, does anyone know which pieces to remove so it fits? i removed the small metal bracket below the front screws, but do we need to remove the stock radiator cover? the air vent would seem useless with the cover blocking the way, but before i go through the trouble, do you? thanks..

here's some pics...

and what i plan to use it for...

i got mine from aj-racing.com, i think they might have one more in stock, but i had to pay extra fees to bring it from canada to the u.s., like $150.00 bucks total, instead of a hundred or less, but they had them in stock, i know ben from bulletproof can get them too

not sure about the spoon, but either way you would have to cut the flap underneath off, then maybe some on top, the one with the mugen was widened

I think there's gonna be some cutting involved for both the Spoon and Mugen CAI...but I mean, if you have a CAI, you won't really need this.

In the N1 Enduro circuity, the Spoon S2K is running this plate since they are not allowed to run their CAI duct. I basically blocks the heat emanating from the rad, to the stock airbox intake/"mouth". But with a CAI, you completely by-pass this since your source is from the outside! "But won't the rad still heat up the CAI duct/tube?" Technically yes, but it's impact is very very negligible, especially if you go with a CF CAI which is heat resistant.

I've had the Okuyama Carbing plate long time ago.
I've ran into same hood closure problem.
It was obvious that the holes drilled out for the hood latch is not good.
I knew back then the company came out with alternate pattern cutout in order to make the hood close in Japan. I am just little surprised to see that you got the same old pattern.
I am going to try dishing out some additional photos for you to see how the pattern is different than what you and I have. The bottome picture taken from Japanese owner's car also looks different on the latch area, if you haven't noticed.
I would concentrate on seeing if the bolts on the hood latch gets to go through the cut outs on the plate first.

Performance wise it would probably do nada however it does look cool by covering the clutters underneath.

Good luck!

randy, did you take off the stock radiator cover? are we supposed to? i know that the air scoop rests on top of it, maybe that's the reason for the hood not closing, there is another person in the forum with the same plate, but his hood closes, although he didn't tell me anything about how he installed it

That cover looks tight.. Imma have to look into it.

But hey, does the same company make the cover for the battery? I noticed you had a cover on the battery, just wondering if its custom made...
