Kraftwerks+dave's garage+factorX=
Like the title says...
A while back, a friend of mine (jack) called me and said he was interested in the KW kit for his 05. he was concerned at the time, because a kit wasnt available to just be bolted on for the early cars. I said...who cares, why not put it on and go Fcon Vpro. I have THE guy to make the car rail. Any of you who know me already, know ive been running "daves garage" out of my house for year and a half or so now, and i network alot. so having been in the car business a long time, i have some kick ass contacts. SO, the team ended up being, jack=funds/car, daves garage= bad ass install/upgrades, factorX engineering= Fcon Vpro/tune/dyno.
I spaced pics of the build, and all the extra stuff that ive done, and jacks done. so im not gonna do a huge build up pic thread, this is mainly a thread of the final results. we were more than happy with the outcome, as the tune is VERY safe at this point, and fully fit to handle back to back to back freeway runs in the heat we have here in vegas. not to mention thin ass air we have here, and crappy 91 octane pump gas.
this afternoon...

This ones probably gonna put a pretty big smile on some faces. The blower moves quite a bit of air with the 10 psi pulley. This particular car breathes well, and thus is able to ingest much more of it than a stock car,(no cat etc) so we had a live max boost of 8.4 psi.
Still the numbers made us all smile. car was tuned in road load mode, so it would be spot on, then we switched to dynojet style to get an avg number so everyone feels comfy with an industry standard #.
Not bad numbers at 395 whp, and 282 wtq.
Thats on calm tune, with pump gas, mid 80s outside.
should have seen the smile on his face, go fast in hand, 395 whp chillin..

if this pic cant be zoomed enough for you to see what youd like, i can send you the largest version so you can zoom it.(just go to my s2ki albums and you can zoom the hell out of it) still have to road tune once jacks wideband is in, to get it where we want it (smoother curve) but its close enough for government work. And the next videos and numbers will be on 100 octane. things are likely to get real wild, especially when we pour in some Q16. stay on alert, you may see a white UFO near you.
Here,s the dyno vid

Thanks again to everyone who has been involved with this project, and interested or excited along the way. (people from texas)
Thanks to
Jack, for owning the car, and waiting patiently while we dial it all in.
Mike at factor X for being the bad ass tuner and supplying the Fcon
Oscar junior for the few questions i had during the build
Ben at AJR for some other items.
Mcfadden dale for all the bad ass upgrade hardware.
Inline pro for some items.
RC engineering
Forge motorsports for the BOV
horsepower freaks for some items..
see you all on the streets.... in the rearview.

okie you guys got me excited. i have a stock s with a invidia v3 with the kw high boost kit. Im trying to figure out what i have to do to get to 450 whp.... I'm thinking headers + 3" single... custom tune and than meth

Uhm, that probably wont get you there, at this point the blower is moving as much air as it can. You could overspeed it, and then you risk blower failure. you could run meth inj, but the problem is, if your tuned on it, and you run out, or your pump quits working... bummer. issues, and your not making that consistent HP. now, mike could control the meth with the Fcon, and most likely failsafe it, so if it doesnt see the meth, it keeps the timing safe, but im not sure on that 100%.
boost cams would be my next suggestion. i just dont think this blower has anything left. its maxed out on RPM now, and we are set at 8200 rpm. Im sure it will move a bit more, but we would have to chop rpm off the top.
IF, this were my car i would do rods/pistons and 100 shot. that would be consistent HP, and if you really needed the extra 100, man you better be racing one nasty ass opponent. Then it would be consistent. pump gas #s, and then an extra 100 with Q16 in the nitrous system fuel tank, so i wouldnt have to knock out any timing. THAT is the consistent power combo...
why the hell am i giving away my secrets...
Anyway.... If any of you guys are on nsx prime you will know factor x for its nsx! They have tuned more turbo nsx's than anyone in the country and also specialize in high horsepower supra's!!!! After seeing some of the cars they have tuned with seamless perfection....... I feel confident knowing that they tuned the car!!!!!
here is a link that shows their magazine whored nsx

The great thing about superchargers are you can basically follow the recipe of an NA build and add the blower as an intake after the fact!!!! The kraft kit really does have alot of potential and is a great entry level kit with reliable power! I still know of a few ways we can extract atleast 50 more hp without changing the blower pulley or displacement! meth is an idea, as well as some good headwork! After market cams would also be a huge benefit if you were willing to put in the time of trial and error dyno! For now 395rwhp will suffice!!!

Just for a comparison we dyno'd a bone stock LEXUS IS-F on the EXACT same dyno, same settings! (same time of day a couple weeks earlier) here were the results!!!! Keep in mind the lexus weighs almost 3800 pounds! Best run was 376rwhp
