Default Smart Car

I did a favor for PPG yesterday and let them unload a Smart Car that they had at the SEMA show in Las Vegas. Here are some pictures.

I wasn't taking the pictices or I would have gotten some pictures of the special color shifting paint along with the "water spot" highlights.

That cars is nice. It was loaded with electric windows, electric door locks, aftermarket sat radio system, leather seating, heated seats, automatic tranny with paddle shifters and a bunch more. Very nice but kind of small up front.

They should be called dumb.

For the price of this death bucket that must run on premium fuel to produce 70hp, you can get more car with compariable mileage, more power, reg unleaded, a back seat, better ride, and more options.

I agree with everything except the death bucket part.

They have proven to be pretty safe compared to other larger cars.

The mileage sucks compared to what I would expect for one. I'd rather buy a Fit. They do look interesting, though.

Canada has had the smart car about about 3-4 years. I haven't had the opportunity to test one out.

They look cute, the interchangeable panels are not a bad idea. I have heard of issues with servicing, but that could just be the ownership of the dealership. Reliably wise... I haven't talked to anyone that owns one.

We have many of them in germany.
The one at the pic is already the 2nd generation, which is bigger then the first gen.
It's a funny car, but the gearbox really sucks.

Here's a pic with both generations.

left old, right new.
