Default Road Course with CT or VT SC setup

I was wondering if anyone on here does any kind of road course racing or Auto-X for that matter with a Comptech or Vortech SC kit?

Reason for asking is that for both these kits, the SC sits out front of the engine, which seems would affect the overall balance of the car, and therefore hindering its handling abilities.

Is that the case? Or would a simple corner balancing eliminate that theory?

No one on here is running a SC setup that they track every once in a while or Auto-X.

I was just wondering if there is a significant change in handling with the SC sitting out front of the motor. And if there is... can it be dialed out by using corner balancing?

A bunch of us are. I think we're just choosing to ignore the thread because it's silly.

Why is it silly?

I think it's a logical question considering the fact that one of the strong point of the car is to place all the major weight of the motor behind the axis of the front wheels and in front of the axis of the rear wheels. And also, I'll admit I'm a newbie to FI setups and tracking put together.

Now you place what I'm assuming to be about a 50 lbs system past that point in the front, would that affect the handling at all? It can be a simple yes or no. Or a "I ended up getting the car corner balanced after just to be certain".

I've found the extra power changes the handling more than the weight.

What a shocker! I never would have guessed.

Andre, this should not be your primary concern. Either get the SC or don't, but the effect it has on the weight balance of the car is going to be far, far, far from the biggest effect it has on the car.

Are you planning on putting a big wing on the rear?

That's a few pounds... but oh wait, when you're moving at speed, it's more rear downforce...

So are you going to static corner balance your car with an extra 100 pound sandbag on the rear to simulate downforce at speed?

With a gallon of gas being 6# per gallon, do you notice horribly errant handling when you're on a full vs 1/8th tank?

And heaven forbid you ever take a PASSENGER out... think of the side-to-side balance issues!!!!!

You get the point.

And I wouldn't normally be such a jerk... but you didn't get the passive aggressive hint of being ignored... and kept bumping the thread.

Add that to the fact that IF you cared to look down the 1st page of this forum you'd find this thread:
