Average UAW workers' real wage (salary, benefits, etc) comes out to about 50/hr, whereas the average toyota/honda worker is half that and they're quality control is apparently better. I'm a firm proponent of firing the decision makers before firiing the direction followers, but seriously, the UAW needs to perish, they don't get it do they?
I think unions are finally being exposed to the american public the way they should be- people will now begin to change their minds about unions when they see that their/their children's tax dollars are going to be funding their laziness.
Death to the UAW. You want a higher paying job? Go to college, go to grad school, work for pennies on teh dollar for 80 hours a week, sacrifice your personal life, and then make it big later in life.
Wow, this almost makes me want to write to my congressman saying that they better not fund the big 3 bailout without the UAW crumbling first.

Hurrah for the UAW. The faster they put the big 3 int chpt 7 the less chance I'll be forced to pay for their continued existence.

Why should they accept cuts when Obama has promised to take care of them? All they have to do is wait until January and things will be alright.

most parasites try to keep their host alive b/c they depend on the host to survive. UAW's mission, it seems, is to kill its host.
Seems like they aren't parasites but bacteria or a virus perhaps.

next election cycle will be easy for me. any ass hat that votes any bill to support failing companies with taxpayers dollars will get a big NO from me. GM was reporting record LOSSES several quarters prior to any of this blowing up. why on earth should we dump billions into a failing company that will most likely fail 6 months later after they waste OUR money. No thanks.

Either they figure out how to make competitive automobiles (here is a hint, dump the UAW) or they fail and disappear. Not sure when the government decided they had the right to pick and choose which companies to save with OUR money.
