Default Mishimoto Aluminum Radiator And Shroud/Fans

I recently Purchased on eBay The Mishimoto Aluminum Radiator comes with cap for 204.99 Shipped to my house...

I also bought the Aluminum Shroud which they do not tell you what it includes. I bought for 172.99 Shipped

Both Packages arrived in black mishimoto Boxes.
Radiator was packed very nicely from manufacturer. Includes a Mishimoto Small decal aprox 1 inch wide by 12 inches long

The shroud includes 2 fans identical in size as opposed to the oem fans where the fan on the left is larger.. The gauge wiring on the mishimoto fans are a higher gauge then the stock fans wiring which i didn't like because the thicker the gauge the better off you are..

also included in the shroud package was a metal sheet of aluminum cut perfectly to mount the fans inside..

So when it came time to pare the shroud to the radiator you would think because they were both mishimoto they would fit perfectly... This was not the case.. i had to do modifications to the radiator and shroud to align the holes. Very annoying

the mishimoto radiator and shroud fit perfectly into the car.. the height is perfect and all the inlets for the radiator hoses and temp switch are direct oem which was a plus.

after installation the radiator looked beautiful.. polished aluminum

I believe i have air in the system because the car temp gauge goes past the halfway point on the dash but im sure the radiator works fine...
The Fans kicked on for a little while but then the fuse blew.. 20 amp
i replaced the fuse and it hasn't blown since.. might have to upgrade to 25 amps or put a relay if the fuse blows again.

one last thing i noticed was that it takes longer for my heat to kick on...
It could also be that its 25 degrees here in NY but i believe that the heat takes longer to kick on

The installation took me about 2 and a half hours by myself
Im only 19 so im sure a couple of guys could get it done quicker

anyway i hoped my info helped someone decide whether or not to purchase the radiator and shrouds... I believe i got a good price.. so if anyones interested in buying it check out ebay on the best offer auctions and see how low you can get the seller to sell for...

PS in regard to the people with KOYO radiators claiming the welds are better... I havent seen the Koyo welds but the welds on the mishimoto are actually very nice.

PSS if ur buying this as a stage of weight reduction because aluminum is lighter.. this will only increase weight to your car.. the radiator is thicker and holds alot more coolant.. as far as a number i can give for weight gain very minimal but no weight will be lost..

Ill try to put pictures up
Peace!

koyo makes oem stuff.

as for the fan... u usually mount fans with some type of zip tie.

Do not put a bigger fuse. The fuse is made to pop before it overheats the wiring. Everytime you overheat a wire its resitance goes up. It gets worse and worse.

i actually just replaced it with another 20 amp fuse and hasnt blown... i have no idea what happened but whatever it was it seems fine now.. been driving the car all day and hasnt overheated.. im calling the installation a success..

the true test will be in the summer when its not 25 degrees outside

when you "add reply" you can link your pic with the IMG button. You just have to have your pics hosted. Doesn't Apple have a site for you to host pics?

Unless thats not an option as a guest?
