Default Lowered Seat Rail - OEM Seats?

Hi all,

I'm new to these parts, currently drive a dc-5 teg, but really have a rwd/convertible itch to scratch!

The s2k would be my 1st choice being a Honda man, the only problem is that I'm 6'6"!

I really don't feel comfortable in a standard car, but have a lowered rail in the teg and it's made ALL the difference.

I can see there are similar options available with the s2k, so my question is does anyone in the south east have one fitted that I could try for size? I'm 5 min from the Virginia Water meet next tues, so that would be ideal if you're already going to that!!

Thanks in advance for any tips or help offered!

Andy.

Have a chat with Vixen and find out if J8mie is about. He did a review on some I think they were the Back Yard Specials. Vixen organises the Surrey meet, Jamie is quite a tall fella.

infact he wrote a how to thingy all about it

I think I read somewhere that the ITR seats fit the S2k. So might the rails fit too?

Anyone seen J8mie? I haven't seen him post in a long time?

Not seen J8mie since he organised the tunnel run. I've not been to a Surrey meet for a while either so don't know if he's been to those. Last post on here was August...

Thanks for the replies guys!

I've sent Jamie an e-mail so hopefully he'll get it.

Kiwi, whereabouts are you? Would you let me try yours for size?

The problem I have, is that's it's a real gamble to buy a s2k without knowing for sure that I can modify it enough to fit in!

Very useful thread, thanks for bringing this up as its something I've been wanting to do for a while.

I am 6ft5 and I fit ok in the S on the standard seat with soft top up. Drove 1k miles in 2 days with no issues and I actually find the seats more comfortable than on my Passat. However, and this is a recurring criticism from many people about the S, I do feel like I am on top of the car rather than part of it so it would be nice to lower the seat a bit as long as its a reversible procedure.

I found the following three links on the US board on this topic but haven't taken this forward from there.

Option 1

Option 2
Option 3

Last time I heard he was all loved up. Don't think Vixen has heard from him in a while either. Could be wrong though.
