S2K @ K2K - February 8th!
Okay boys and girls, I've wanted to try this out for a while now, and I finally got around to calling over there. I spoke with Tony at Kart 2 Kart and he e-mailed me over some info. For some more general information regarding K2K, I uploaded their trifold brochure to my yahoo briefcase: Hopefully this link to the .pdf works!
If we have 10 or more drivers then we can reserve time for a grand prix style race which consists of three, ten-minute sessions: one practice, one qualifying heat, and one race (with starting grid based on qualifying). Cost would be $50 for each driver. Winner gets bragging rights published on this thread.
If we have less than 10 people, open practice is recommended. The open practice price is about the same (actually a little less if my math is correct), $15 per session per person. Of course, we're not guaranteed a slot, and just have to call ahead to make sure they are not booked up.
Either way, the cost strikes me as reasonable. My goal is to get 10 firm commitments. If we reserve a grand prix race, they require a $100 deposit which I'm willing to put on my card, but you're all on the honor system to actually show up if you say you're coming.
I'm looking at Saturday, February 7th at ~4pm or Sunday, February 8th at ~4pm. They're currently open all day Sunday for reservations, and on Saturday they've got a group at 2pm and another at 7:30p.m. I thought 4pm was a good time because we could spend about 1.5-2hours over there and then grab somthing to eat afterwards. If you're interested in attending, which of those two days would work best for you?
Edit: It looks to me like more than 10 are interested; so, I've got us booked for the Sunday, the 8th, at 4 p.m. Looking forward to seeing everyone there. If you arrive before me, the reservation is in my name, Kamron Lessani.
