This is my first street encounter ever since i put on my intake and testpipe. i was leaving tysons corner and cruising with my friend towards georgetown around 4pm yesterday. When we got onto the George Washington pkwy we stuck to the right lane and i looked at my side mirror and noticed there was a car coming from behind real fast! HOLY CRAP its a R8!!! it ZOOMS by me. so i down shift and catch up to it! my friend follows closely behind me too. she has a CR. so the R8 then slows down i guess because he saw me trying to catch up. so he slowed down to about 60-63mph and i got to my 3rd gear. i know my cars powerband pretty well and i knew my car was ready to go because of the power i gained from my intake and testpipe. my friend is slowly driving behind us to see what happens. the R8 owner blows his horn 3 times and we go by! he pulls up about 1/4 a car and then i shift to 4th gear and then get neck to neck! once we get to 130mph he starts flying away.

2nd try. he slows down again and waits for me. same results!! for a moment there tho i was about an inch infront of him. those were some nice straight aways! i havent gone that fast ever since my 126mph speeding ticket after the 2 races, all 3 of us just cruised to the key bridge exit and we waved each other good bye. AWESOME runs. i thought the R8 would be faster

this is tough to read, the rx8 blew by you and you caught up easily. the second part you were behind, so you weren't racing the rx8 ('cause you were losing) but you later said thought the rx8 would be faster (implying that it was slow(er). so were you racing the rx8, the veyron, or the cr?

stock rx8's look like low 14s and FI rx8's look like 13s...

Unless the driver was a complete retard there is no damn way you would be able to stay with that car. They trap at 113mph and 12.5sec 1/4mile, about the same as a C6 vette and there is no way you can hang with that in a stock S. I had my ass handed to me by an M3 z4 which is not as fast as an R8.

Are R8's available in real manual (vs smg)? its always possible the driver sucks balls.
