Your Top 3 Reasons for NOT Owning a MKIV Supra
Saw one this weekend, lowered with some ground effects and nice wheels. One of the better looking examples I've seen. Sounded good, too.
For those who have owned the car or considered ownership, why did you part ways?

I liked my Supra and S2K for different reasons. My Supra was a 650HP beast that was still easy to drive. Even after I installed my single I still got about 24-25mpg. Sometimes on long easy freeway jaunts I'd get closer to 32-33MPG. I'm guessing it had to do with my VPC settings. It's a much better daily driver than the S2K. You may say it is heavier, and it shows in somewhat numb steering compared to my S2K, but it brakes better, handles more G's, and as we all know faster than the S2k. The hatchback and collapsible rear seat make it more practical. It takes bigger balls to drive the Supra. You have to trust the car, but even at the limits it gives up grip gently and is very predictable. I almost shit my pants after some stupid stunts in the S2k. The S2k, IMO is the better looking car, you can argue both have aged gracefully. The S2k is much more raw and tossible. I think being designed a generation or two after the Supra gives the S2k a much stiffer chassis. Take the targa top off a Supra and the frame will bend and shake a little even with a strut tower bar. Running the S2k to 9k rpm is fun, but my Gforce ECU raised my fuel cut to about 8K on the Supra. A smooth inline 6 sounds like magic compared to a 4 banger. Torque with boost lag was plentiful at all but the lowest rpms on the Supra. Stock turbo set up was great at all rpms. Only thing that would stop me from buying a Supra is they are getting a little old, and all of them have been molested to some degree. I don't care how well built a car is, having been beat for 100k+ miles doesn't make me feel all that secure. Over all I like both cars, but I'm more of a Supra guy. I had my Supra for almost five years and got rid of my S2k after one year. I miss both of them, but at night I only dream of my dawg.

1. Too high of a residual value (aka overpriced)
2. I have 3 vehicles that I'm happy with.
3. They just ask for way too much for used examples. And that's from someone that thinks that NSX's aren't overpriced.
