Default My S2000 timeline (NSFW)

All right - I've posted picures of my car here in a gallery a few times but I figured I'd stake out my own corner to have a thread to look back on in a few years since I'm at my 2 year ownership mark!

Firstly - Thank you everyone that has helped me with my car so far and for all the great times and events (TX and FL members). I'm really looking forward to many more years with this great car and community! Ariel, Gus, Noah, Justin, Ricky, etc - if ya'll are reading this thread post! Anyway..

Anyone that knows me knows I LOVE my Honda S2000. Its really does feel like a family member. Even when Im dead broke and scrapping to get by things don't go undone with the S. Oil changes, diff/tranny, etc, car care supplies, etc - I never neglect the Honda. Anyway.. my name is Rick and this is the story of my S2000.

I bought my 2005 S2000 in May 2007. I had just turned 20 and was in the Air Force. I test drove a few and really wanted a Spa 02-03 but couldn't find one when I was in the market. There really wasn't any cross shopping - I knew what I wanted. M/T, RWD, good looks, aftermarket support, light weight - you know the drill. It was the perfect car for me and one of the few true newer sports cars on the market.

I found my SSM on a lot (Gunn Honda, San Antonio) with 4 other pre-owned S2Ks. Until this point I had never even had a car with working A/C (240Z, old Blazer, Nissan hardbody, 300ZXs etc.).. so I was excited needless to say.

My intro thread
https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=493048

When I picked it up it had all the OEM Aero stuff - Lip, side strakes and wing. I wasn't sure what direction I wanted to go but I knew it'd be different.

Over time I started picking up parts. I bought my Invidia from a local SA member for a steal and installed an Invidia TP at the same time. Shortly after I threw on a set of Tein S Tech springs with the help of another S2ki member.

After spending a lot of time in The Gallery I couldn't take it anymore - I had to have wheels. I sold my AP2 V1s to a member in VA and ordered a set of VS-XXs. At the time I also installed the CR lip, I second SSM to do so on S2ki. Of course Fish22 whored his out after installing a couple days after me so people quickly started liking it (How can you hate it on LBP? )

After running this setup for a while I had my wheels redone in something more unique.. Laguna Blue Pearl. I deployed to Iraq in May 2008 and when I came back I picked up a hardtop - again from another S2ki member. After rocking it for all of 2 weeks - Top always down - I sold the HT - but not before my last photoshoot.

Florida Supermeet 2009

After everythings said and done I've had SO many good times with my car and the friends I've met with it. The Lonestar BBQ meet, all the local get togethers, the trips across country (I've driven TX to SC, New Orleans, Florida, etc). Its all been great.

Getting stuck in a rainstorm after meeting an S2Kier in GA and convincing him to put his top down because it was soooooo nice out LOL.

Winning a Honda Hat at the FL Supermeet this year.

I like the car overall. I think a more aggressive (lower) drop would help pull off the wheels a bit more, but it is still pretty good.
