Post Italy to England - Euro Hoon

As the title says.

We are planning a road trip this september to Italy. My main objective is enjoying driving down in the S. However, some members of the group (sister and girlfriend) have other priorities, of the bottled variety.

My brother in law knows of a kind gent who is willing to assist once in the chamagne region to tour and sample the local delights.

What we need to get sorted is a suitable route to take in the great driving roads, champagne and end up at Pisa in Italy.

I want to travel via the alps or simalar (without snow hopefully). We think about 3 days in all to get there.

Any suggestion on a good route would be very much appreciated!

TIA.

Alex

I would recommend going via Grenoble on the way down, taking in the route napoleon.

On the way back head north, through the Italian lakes (Villa Ciprissi in Varenna highly recommended) and then into Switzerland taking in some of the stunning passes (Furka, Grimsel, Sustern, San Gotthard and Simplon all recommended).

Thought id raise my old thread from six foot under.

Well to let you all know that i'll be setting off on the hoon very VERY soon. I can't wait.

Pritty much got the route sorted now. And it looks like its going to be a hot one! Just need i few final tweaks but its coming together.

The home bound run is going to be the fun stuff.

To give to an idea ill be visiting
Day 1
Tuscan Hills to Maranello, leading on to Lake Garda

Day 2
Visiting the dolomites

Day3
Trento to interlaken taking in the Stelvio and furka passes.

Day 4
TBC

Just had my wheels pointed in the right directions by Chris at Gravity Center. My second visit this year and the S is feeling in rude health. Cant wait to get on the twisties.

AH i love it!!

Id appreciate some feedback if anyone has driven these routes. The photo oppo will be endless. I must clear my mem card.

When travelling through France make sure to visit "Oradour Sur Glane" It's called the German Massacre village as the Nazis killed the entire Village (650+ people) and as a tribute to all the villagers its been left exactly as it was, you can still see all the old 1920/30's cars, old bikes, kiddies prams a very very moving place to visit. I do have pics if you want to see first?
