Default Expanding my Luggage Carrying Capibilty

Anyone live near or know Fred and Karen of:

Fred Burger "Trailers"
30 Highland Road
Ulster Park, NY

Cyclemate HRT Classic

I'm interested in expanding my luggage carry capability similar to what this Rio owner did ....

Cute little trailer.
I wonder how easy it is to make it oversteer.
If actually interested enough to buy, make sure you do a test drive/pull before buying, some small trailers like that can hop like hell all over the road and become a real uncomfortable tow.
Good luck.

Hey Ken,

Gary (Deadbird) has a trailer for his S. Might want to get his input, as well!

I don't need any more packing space until I get a plus one
Nice little trailer though! It would be very cool to have one.

I was not thinking about the trailer for you, I was thinking if someone was to go over there and look at it in person you would be the one based upon proximity......

And to give it a fair trial, do not tow it empty. You will never tow with it empty, so don't test it that way. Empty means the springs are going to be fully un-loaded, and this will exagerate the hopping effect if it is going to have one. You would want to test it with about the weight you would have in it.

The way it handles the road surface is all about the suspension design and spring stiffness, some trailers have this combo figured out perfectly, others, clearly not. I always laugh when I see someone towing an empty trailer and the thing is hoping all over, because when you get close enough to see their face they have this look of Oh My God and the clenched steering wheel and white knuckles to go along with it. I have experienced the tail wagging the dog, and it is, honestly, scarier than anything I have experienced on the race track...

But please, don't let anything I say change your mind about towing, the right little trailer can be a wonderful experience and offer up all sorts of wonderful travel options, but test driving/pulling is really very important.

Keep us posted, we are a curious bunch...
