Default S2000 Crash :(

I was on a mountain run in the North Carolina mountains on NC-18 (fun road) following my buddy on a CBR 1000RR in the rain. We were coming down a hill where there was a slight dip in the road, nothing out of the ordinary when I saw the bike starting to get sideways. Two seconds later I started to spin, a total of 300+ yards and ended up in a ditch. My buddy didn't go down who knows how but the S wasn't so fortunate. Got an estimate today from Hendrick Honda here in Charlotte, NC and the grand total comes to $11,000+ in damages!!!!! That includes basically the whole subframe of the car, control arms, suspension, 3 wheels, front and back bumper, and exhaust. Question is should I just have it totaled if possible or get just get it fixed. Its an '04 with about 58000 miles on it.

Seriously, who would have thought this would have been the outcome .

If you are going to do something dumb like that you could atleast post up some pictures of the aftermath, this would be a good addition to the wrecked thread .

I was simply telling the story, my sweet man-friend, main question was whether I should call the car totaled or fix it.

I had no intention of offending you, guess I just thought that you already knew that you made a dumb mistake, when you were standing on the street looking at your car in the ditch . Figured if you wanted just an answer and no feedback to your actions and fates reaction ,you would have not posted the story in details, but would have just posted something like this, "wrecked my car, $11K in damage, 2004 with 58K, should I try to get it totaled??

I would have responded, absolutely push to get it totaled, but ultimately it is up to the insurance. If that $11k is not an insurance quote, the insurance would most likely get it done for much less than that.

Go for totaled. I think most insurances consider any damage >80% value is a total.

Sorry to hear that tho.
