Thumbs down UMW BBQ/Meet in Warren Dunes, MI

Alright, this will be our first go round for something like this. We will have a BBQ/Meet at Warren Dunes State Park in Michigan (website here) and located here in Sawyer, MI on Saturday, June 20th.

We've picked this spot since it seems to be somewhat centrally located for our region and provides a safe, secure environment for us to have some fun and enjoy the weather and the S. There are picnic areas available for us to use, please bring something with you (food wise or fundage to help with food) alcohol is not allowed anywhere in the park, so don't bother bringing it.

I'll be bringing a 10'x10' canopy type thing along with a couple chairs, please bring a chair with you, plus anything else you'd like.

Charlie has mentioned doing a caravan from the Milwaukee area and I'm sure Pete would be up for heading a caravan from Chi-town.

Where
Warren Dunes State Park
12032 Red Arrow Highway
Sawyer, MI 49125

When
Saturday, June 20th

Who
Absolutely every UMW member or guest is encouraged to come

Time
9am-6pm

I believe there is a $6 charge for entering the park, hopefully that won't be an issue.

The List - Please note what you might bring (food/drinks or fundage)
sw05s2k - Food + Misc.

We hope to see as many of you as possible

I think this is a great idea, really looking forward to it. I'm happy to organize a caravan down from MKE, I think it would be really cool to have our caravan meet up with the CHI people for one large train over to MI. I'm also looking at finding somewhere to stay the night for those of us who will be braving the long drive-- PM me if you're interested and we might be able to get a deal on hotel rooms if there are enough of us.

The List - Please note what you might bring (food/drinks or fundage)
sw05s2k - Food + Misc.
chazzguitar - food, cash... I'll also bring the party.

Hope to see a great turnout for this one!

Cheers
Charlie

There's an advantage to a big trunk.

Don't forget, you can also swim in the Lake. Bring a swim suit and a towel.

Blendo + 1 - I have no idea what to bring food wise!

I've been camping there a bunch of times, and the beach area is nice. Good workout huffing it up the 300ft high sand pile. I'll try to fit one of my RC sailplanes in the car too. Good fun surfing the air currents off of the ridgeline.

Wow! What awesome timing! I'm in for this provided my climbing trip doesn't complicate things. I leave for Mt. Shasta on the 24th.

I'm also in for the caravan from Milwaukee!
