F1 Style Tachometer
I got this idea from shadydave in https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=705439
Thanks
Final result
He did it in red but I wanted to try blue so I went to officeworks to find some colourful "filters"
found this for $2.08

When I started

I found that there are 4 parabolic reflectors but I didn't think the light would be bright enough with the new filter so I used this. I bought it a long time ago for $10

You can see this film reflects light quite well

3 hours later
http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z160/bo...C11944-1024.jpg
then I started with the blue filter
no pic, but here's the result

http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z160/bo...C11955-1024.jpg
I wasn't very happy as it wasn't blue enough
so I decided to create a rainbow dial

this took 2.5 hours to cut and design LOL
check how many colours I use
the result is amazing! I'm so happy

that looks great... think you could get away with just installing a blue color screen?? bright enough?
Really tempted to do this now, as I just installed my Alpine blue screen so want to match it, and in the future blue dials...
oh one more thing how did you attach all those pieces together?

damn...some of you guys get crazy with the whole "custom mod" thing.
for ingenuity.
personally, i'm a big fan of the stock amber lighting. i hate blues and white lights etc. in the cockpit at night. amber is the easiest lighting on your eyes which means the less distracting as well. i love the simplicity of the s2000 interior, but it's not for everyone.
but i like seeing what people do about it. nice work
