OK...I'm not quite ready to start the master bath renovation - probably not until the first of the year. This is the last major project in the condo. Some of you have already been through my kitchen and guest bath renovations. I got excited so have already started picking stuff out. The main thing I was looking for was a cream colored tile with some green accents. I wasn't hopeful since I could not find anything online. So I went by my tile place and darn if I didn't find exactly what I wanted!! It's called Lady Onyx.
A honed marble will be used in the bath/toilet area, which is a room separate from the dressing area. The tile will surround the tub and also be laid on the floor. The tile guy took me back and showed me the most gorgeous slab in what's called leather finish. It is rough and has ridges. Also Lady Onyx. They had just gotten it in. So...looks like I'm going to have them make the vanity top out of that instead of ordering the top with the vanity. The vanity is in the dressing area. I may have to go ahead and order the tile and slab early to be certain I can get them. To be determined soon. The tile place will hold it for me for up to a year.
Update - I wanted an air bath/whirlpool, but the extensive wiring from the fuse box to the bath made that a no go. So I'm getting a white regular bathtub instead.
Here are the pics so far. I already have the ceiling fixture in the dressing area and love it. So I selected the colors around that.

I changed my mind about the vanity I wanted, too. Now it will be another one from Empire. I put an Empire vanity in the guest bath (Malibu style). This one is the Newport style. It will be 48", either in white or cinammon. Haven't decided yet. The current vanity is 60", but the new one doesn't come that large. So I may buy the matching curio cabinet.
Of course, I will be providing a blow-by-blow description of the process. For those who are interested, here are the links to the kitchen and guest bath renovations.
You will definately enjoy the whirlpool bath. I don't use our often, but my wife loves it.
We had new cabinets and a exhaust hood installed in the kitchen. The exhaust fan works great, no more smelling bacon for hours after you have breakfast.
I had the contractor also put in (2) 1600 CFM exhaust fans in the roof. That was the best move that I made. They kick on when the attic temperature gets to 95 degrees and they go off at 80. Still have not turned on the air conditioning yet this year.
Yes, the +1 uses the guest bath, which he loves, particularly the rainhead in the shower. The master bath is mine!!
I love the exhaust fan in the kitchen, too. It looks really nice and works great! Hardly ever use the fan above the low setting. The higher ones sound like it's going to take off!
I've been looking at replacing mine in 3 of my bathrooms.
They are the original contractor crap and 20 yrs old to boot.
They howl like a banshee when they start.
The challenge is I'm sure they were installed before the ceilings and I haven't figured out the mechanics of extraction and re-installation.
That is without ripping out some wall board and re-doing it.

I agree with you about the exhaust fan, the lowest setting is all that we use.
have fun with the renovation, Deb. I'd keep the closet too. My contractor had told me we could have double sinks if we knocked out the linen closet, but I didn't want to do that, and I'm happy with that decision.
Thanks...I'm going with a 60" vanity with one sink, which is what is in there now. Talked to my contractor this morning and we are shooting for January. He had some time in Nov, but I didn't want to potentially run into the Christmas holidays.
I decided on the Air Bath (see pic above). It's an American Standard Deep Soak Air Bath. Says it pampers with thousands of warm air bubbles and provides a refreshing and quiet massage. The jets are flush with the bottom of the tub. Also has a built-in heating system to keep the bath water warm. Going to call American Standard to get info on the access panel, etc. Don't want to order it and find out it won't work out!
to you MsP. Your selections are gorgeous and it looks like you'll have the ultimate luxury master bath! Kudos to you. I still need to wrap my mind around some renos here, but haven't the stomach for dealing with the contractors . . . yet. Maybe next year. I'm glad you're getting all the things done that I need to do so I can call on an expert for assistance.
