Default cooling plates

i know a carbon fibre cooling plate will look ballin under the hood but how good are they. first off, from what i know they help the radiator cool the coolant. anyone have any experience with these mods?

I don't see how it can help cool the coolant in the radiator...unless it can somehow pump fresh cold air in front of the radiator?

I'd say mainly for show, but some can provide some gains if you go with the J's, AUT, Backyard special plates that have a funnel directly into the stock intake horn.

This plate is use to direct all the airflow to radiator instead of going up and over the engine bay if you know what i mean?

Spend money elsewhere like on a CAI at least.

You do know that oem has the same piece? So what's the point of adding a cf cooling plate when their is an oem one in place? The only benefit from an aftermarket one would be to remove the oem one and have the 'cooling' plate that directs air into the oem intake.

I bet most people don't even know of this oem piece and run the cf plate anyway...

When installing the mugen, j's, asm snorkle type...its a must to remove that air guide...but others who don't instal such an intake would never know it existed

If that's the ONLY thing your doing, then it would be a little helpful with a oem box, but not worth it IMHO

If you have a K&N FIPK, then yes get a cooling plate with the cut out and remove the OEM divertor

true. Most people just cut the air guide if they are not going to use a CF cooling plate. Either way, air needs to be directed toward the rad
