Default CTSC Non Ac, 10psi pulley stock inj and ecu!

I am successfully running Comptech Sc which is non-aftercooled on 10psi using only STOCK INJECTORS and STOCK ECU. You ask HOW?!?

...I began looking for a way to cool my intake temps etc since I'm non-aftercooled and I am NOT going to pay what the companies are asking for one ...so I came across the AEM water/meth injection kit liked the idea of cooling the temps, keeping knock tendency down, and adding fuel ( the methanol ) as a possible way to increase boost without upgrading the injectors and to management. I bought a emanage blue used from a member here to make the jump to 10psi...but the rotary dials turned out to be broken (check my other thread)...anyways so I came to me that the stock ecu is awesome aleady I mean come on its a Honda so I decided to try and run the stock ecu. After the aem injection was in I tryed the medium nozzle first with the injection set to come on .5psi and full blast at 6psi ( lowest possible ), as S2000Junky had good luck with it on his similiar setup. But turned out to be that I wasn't getting enough fuel with the PEAK -20 washer fluid which is 70% water 30% methanol, I was seeing lean spikes of 13.4!!! I went out bought 3 bottles of HEET ( pure meth almost ) to bring the water to meth ratio to about 50/50 but I still did not have enough fuel and my afr's only dropped to spikes of 13.0 or 13.1 I had to go up to the largest nozzle the kit provides. And with the 50/50 mix ( didn't want to buy more fluid yet had 3/4 tank left ) my afr's came all the way do to a high of 12.3 Now again this is with STOCK INJECTORS AND STOCK ECU...the only other thing controlling fuel is my rising rate comptech fpr. S2000Junky is running I believe 10.5 psi with his aftercooled setup but he also has a vafc hes using to tune. I think I am around 11 psi or more ( no boost gauge ) since I don't have an aftercooler like him. Now since I have nothing to tune my afr's with I see a steady 12.0-12.3 ratio from vtec up...but from vtec down tho my afr when I go full throttle I see afr's drop to a lowest of 10.7 around 3500 rpm. This is very rich indeed but I mean come on who floors it outside vtec anyway!!! I don't drive hard so when I am daily driving pulling out normal etc the stock ecu never leaves closed-loop operation and even if it would my afr's with out the injection on ( requires alot of vacuum almost full throttle ) only go down to 11.6 or 11.7 area if I am not at full throttle.

I know my method of getting there was outside the box and unorthadox but I am rather pleased with the results tho. After a good time in vtec land I can pop my hood and my intake manifold will be muke warm instead of scorching HOT like before, I am not knocking, pinging,or detonating at all!!! and I have more power I am relieved everything worked out as I planned. So if anyone out there wants to give me their opinions about what they think of my setup and any questions they might have that would be great.

UPDATE - I turned my fpr a quarter turn in to increase the pressure a bit I now only see a 12.0-12.1 from vtec up full throttle.

UPDATE 2 - Changed the spark plugs today I am using NGK 7173 which I believe is one step colder then stock ( don't remember been awile since I purchased them ) this my first time changing the plugs since I went supercharged and also the first time after I went 10psi ( only been 200 miles on 10psi ). The plugs look to have a normal wear on them no deposits, preignition signs, or leaning far as I can tell. Put new plugs in and will check them in a few hundred miles and get back to you all

UPDATE 3 - I ran into a bit of a problem tonight...the temperature dropped to about 60 degrees and as you all know colder air means more fuel...welllllll I was running just PEAK -20 which is 30meth/70water to see if it was going to be enough with the large nozzle and of course it wasn't after it got cold out. As a matter of fact I was seeing a 13.0 spike in vtec land. not good!!! I went to Sheetz got 3 bottles of HEET and made my mix into 50/50. This dropped my afr's from vtec up to between 12.3 and 12.6...better but not enough to please me. I'm going to try and run about 55meth/45water combination and see how it goes, by adding 1 more bottle of HEET. The aem pump can take 100% meth but I don't want anything that flammable in my car except the pump gas and that will have a negative effect on cooling to. If my 55/45 method doesn't work I'm going to revert back to 7psi and wait for injectors. O and on a side note...50/50 mix I believe adds another 15-20 horsepower I could really feel the difference in power right after I mixed it.

UPDATE 4 - I adjusted my aem controller to turn on at 4 psi instead of .5psi. This way if I do go full throttle below vtec its not at 10.3 afr ( meth injection on ) and now it turns on about 500 rpm before vtec engagement which I did purposely for safety to make sure its on during vtec since I require the fuel. Full throttle below vtec I see 11.3 and up which isn't to bad in my opinion a bit power robbing rich but once again who floors it below vtec?!?

props to see you did all this trial/error work and it's working out for you

i personally think that your tuning methods are way too risky though

Congrats on your success~

Keep an eye on your plugs/oil, and your water/meth level, I'm sure you can make the system last.

I'm still trying to decide if I want to use this system myself. But not for more power, just for cooling the air temp in the manifold. Since I gone up to 11 psi, the aftercooler by itself is just not cutting it during the summer time.

I have used a rising rate FPR with success in other cars, went with a standalone this time around. Glad you did it your way, hope i stays together for ya.

Props to you for doing something out side the box..

However since you are relying for the most part just on the 50/50 mix to keep you

There is a low fluid sensor that comes built into the aem kits controller if its low...there is a green led light that gets brighter with the injection increasing in the rpms..this will constantly flash if the fluid is low so I will know. The nozzle comes with a screen to filter out any dirt from the tank or w/e and I am planning on checking this every 3-4 days for a few weeks to see if there is alot of dirt or little, if any at all.

Just curious, do you have any idea what kind of hp/tq this is laying down?

I can't imagine what your injector duty cycles are...holy crap.
