Unhappy DIY: VIP Style Lighted Door Handles

I got this idea from a Lexus forum from some guy named Bentley Farnsworth, anyways I decided to try it so I picked up some pre-wired white LEDs from Autozone (ricer section) for $10. I ripped apart my car and soldered wires to the dome lights, drilled into the door handle and installed the LEDs. Hardest part was navigating the wire back to the dome light. Whole install took about 2.5 Hours. Didn't have time to do step by step pictures but I do have the results. So far I love them =)

nice... i was thinking about how to hook in LEDs so they blink when you unlock or lock your car door, but having them in sync with the cabin light is good too... but i would also add a switch to enable and disable as well...

pretty cool. I'm thinking some amber or red with resistors to dim it a bit more would look more in line w/my tastes.

love the idea...just think it's too bright.

reminds me of the rear view mirror recessed LED lighting i did in my e36 m3; gave that dim red lighting across the interior like the newer 3 series.
