Default Custom Piece FIPK Snorkel pics

i had the spoon snorkel with the k&n drop in filter with the stock box forawhile.. then got a good deal on a used fipk but wanted to keep the snorkel.. but it was like something was missing... so in a couple of hours i fixed something up out of styrofoam and then decided i liked it and made it out of Lexan.. filled up the gaps with some black heat treated silicone.. heres some pics (i know i have to clean up the black silicone edges.. just waiting for it to dry

did you ever think about making an entire casing that encloses the filter and the snorkel?

^ive thoguht about it.. i dont think its easy to do without making it look like crap.. i might make a fiberglass piece that would fit over the hole comming from the fender and making the last wall by the airfilter cap.. should be a good project.. not gonna make a lid for the top.. my reasoning behind this the hot air will rise to the top and out and the cold air will constantly be entering from the snorkel.. and the hood is a good enough lid.. plus i think with a lid it will take away from the fipk roar under WOT

you should cut the snorkel at the styrofoam plate... right now you're just directing air to the front of the filter and not to the whole filter.

as for enclosing the intake, i wouldnt recommend it but run that flexible duct people use to make brake ducts and run it to the back of the filter

i dont understand why you would lose the stock airbox for this. you should have kept the stock airbox and snorkel then changed the intake arm to an aftermarket or custom.

i like the snorkel though.
