Default Automotive Timelines...

The other night at Applebee's some of the dudes were talking about past cars we've owned and the good times with them. It was mentioned that there was a thread like this once but it disappeared so I thought I'd make a new one. It's always interesting to see what cars people have owned and what they thought of them. I'm also REALLY bored at work right now if you couldn't tell. Post up what you've owned (pictures if possible) and what happened!

I'll start:

1st car: 1997 Corolla. '00-'03. This car was a hand-me-down from my parents. It was a good first car because, despite how boring it was, it took a damn good beating. I T-boned an old man that pulled out in front of me on 01/01/03, so that ended that. Peep the dumpage and the discontinued JDM wheels (no joke, the wheels were rare).

Whoops:

2nd car: 1996 Integra. '03-'03. After the C-rolla' I picked up this super clean black GS-R. The motor seemed healthy as I would pull away from people that weren't expecting it and get accused of having nitrous, LoL. I didn't get too far into it before rolling it while being an absolute dumbass. I'm actually very blessed that myself and my passengers walked away from that one. I have a photo of the car upside down, but it's not scanned. Here's what it looked like prior though:

3rd car: 1998 Integra. '03-'07. This is the car you Taco's guys always hear me talk about. I poured a lot into this car and got so much back from it. The car had a mild NA build that would catch ITR's off guard at the night races . It was also extremely reliable - I'd rev it to 8500 at least once a day and it still pulled 220+ psi on each cylinder. I learned a lot from messing with this one so much. Being part of the Honda scene was fun too, minus the jackers. Unfortunately it got towed off by some thieves when I moved to Detroit . ...I miss this car at lot.

Not the best picture, but look who's in the background! It turns out Liggy was that guy I'd see with the clean S2000 at those Boeing Auto-X events back in the day:

wheel wh0rin':

F*** Thieves:

4th car: 2007 Dodge Caliber. '07-'07. Wow, what a POS this car was. During what Ray would call an "illustrious career at a major automotive manufacturer," we were given the option to lease company vehicles and have insurance paid for. I needed a car quick so I got the cheapest car I could find. I blew all 4 speakers, the driver's seat wasn't secured, and the clutch pedal squeaked after 1000 miles. I beat the crap out of that car and got pretty good at clutchless shifts, haha!

5th car: 1999 Honda Civic. '07-'08. I picked this up when the lease rates went up. It might look nice, but man was it a rust bucket. I went through the coilover install from hell with this car - I snapped two bolts and had to burn all 4 bushings out. Working on that car in sub-10F weather sucked ass. Don't ever buy a midwest car unless it was a fair weather only vehicle. Still though, this one was super reliable and good on gas. No matter how much I thrashed it, it'd get 34+ MPG. Peep the uber rare SSR's :

6th car: 2004 S2000. '08-Now. Not much need to explain this one. The S2000 was my "practical dream car" throughout college, so I'm happy it was a fit when I actually got to drive one. It's the first purchase I made after getting a legit job and small proof of that "hard work pays off" jazz. I picked this one up from a guy in OH that had several bikes - one GSX-R w/gold forks for the street, a dedicated ZX-10R for the track, a dirt bike, and a couple for his wife and daughter. He was a good seller . An S2000 probably isn't the best car to start RWD with, but it's been fun and rewarding the whole way. Additionally, I've got to meet some really interesting characters through the community aspect of it

EDIT - I've got some videos of my Civic, Integras, and S2000 up on my youtube account for anyone interested in seeing some stupidity: http://www.youtube.com/alfonsotan

So that's where I've been, what about you guys?

I'll play along.

1998-2005

1996 Integra GSR man I loved this car had so many fun times in it ;P. Served me through high school and most of college. Typical ricer mods clear corners, sparco seat, intake, exhaust, 00 blades. Got broken into 3 times one week and ended up selling it for dirt cheap as it was damaged and moved on to the next car.

2005-current

2004 s2000 I had always wanted to own a S2000 as soon as I saw the concept version. It was always a bit out of my budget while in college. I ended up finding getting fed up with the Integra being broken into 3 times in one week and bought the S2000.

2006-2007

VW GTI MKVI what a great car absolutely loved it DSG was amazing. Put ~30k miles on it one year. Too bad the frame and subframe didn't want to stay together. Traded it in after they couldn't repair it three times.

2007-2008

2006 STI For whatever reason (a stupid one) I thought that I needed AWD in my life. Boy was I wrong. I don't understand why anyone would want to own this car. Maybe if you lived somewhere that had real snow fall.

2008-2010

2008 G37s. MEH. Had no clue what I wanted leased this car because it was cheap, RWD, and had lots of toys.

First car was an 83 buick skylark limited that was a coupe. it was as big as my moms 4dr accord. super comfy with the pillow top bucket seats. whish id never sold it.

end car, 1991 prelude Si at the start. at the end....400hp on nitrous 4ws different color and every mod you could virtually buy. great car, nothing in the world handles like a lude, add the 4ws and nothing in the world handles like it period.

A buddy of mine had an FX-16 and that thing kicked a$$ (first high revving motor I had an opportunity to drive .... dual intake runners before variable valve timing became affordable)
