Want to do an engine swap on my civic
And I was looking at this.

$4000 isnt too bad, can I get a full swap for cheaper? I really want to go with a K20 because it's newer and 6 speed. Is this a hard swap to do? I know the B series is alot easier. My car is a 96 civic DX hatch.
It says the motor mount kits are available for $450 that isnt bad at all! I heard it would be around $2000.
I also live in california so im very worried about being able to pass smog, I will be needing a USDM motor which that one is.

To sum up all your questions:
-you can do a swap legally
-it will be carb legal as long as the motor is newer than the chassis
-the k20a2 listed is the USDM RSX Type-S motor
-there is alot of room in the eg/ek chassis for a K series motor
-the price listed is SLIGHTLY higher than what swaps usually go for (200-500), BUT for the piece of mind that you are getting a reliable motor and all the parts for the swap. IMO, its worth it because just in case anything happens to the motor, you can call HMO and get a new one. theyre good people.

OP, I really am not trying to sound like a jerk, but if you have to ask some of these questions you probably are not ready to do the swap yourself.
Way to shoot down dreams and ideas bro.

I never said he shouldn't have a swapped car, just that if he doesn't know the answers to some of these questions that he is biting off more than he can chew. I speak from experience. My first engine swap was about as fun as a swift kick to the nuts. I went into it with a similar level of confusion as the OP.
