Dragon Fans!

It's time to "not plan" the "offically non-official non-event" known as Fall McDragon.

What is it? An informal gathering of S2K enthusiasts to drive the Dragon and other great area roads and hang out with other S2k owners for one last weekend before winter sets in. It's one of the last weekends that Deals Gap is open and there's still a bit of fall color hanging on, but the majority of the "leaf peepers" are gone.

When? Friday Nov 6 - Sunday Nov 8th. Meet up at Fontana Village or Deals Gap Friday afternoon (monitor radiio channel 4.0 or just look for the S2Ks.) Thre group of us coming in from Charlotte should be at Deals Gap for lunch around 1:30 on Friday.

Where? Staying at Fontana Village (fontanavillage.com). Make your own reservations; be sure to ask for the "Dragon Slayers" discount. A few of us have a cabin reserved near a community fire pit/commons area, so should be a fun place to hang out.

Yflyer and Linda are in. I just checked TailoftheDragon.com, and there will be Porsches and Corvairs there that weekend.

Hmmm, maybe we will have to drive in reverse so that the motor is at the "right" end.

 

Lets see if I can talk Kathy into visiting my son/wife/newborn that weekend in Charlotte!

Have to stop somewhere on the way down... might as well be at Fontana!!

 

I just made our room reservation, and the reservations clerk said they are down to 5 rooms in the lodge. She would not give the Dragonslayer discount. I told the clerk I was part of the S2000 community, and I asked to ask her manager if they would give the discount.

Answer: No! The discount is only good during the week, and on weekends only if they are not full. How is that for appreciation of our business?

I just reserved a cabin for Highlander, Beth and me.

Also go the Dragon Slayer discount rejected, as well as tagged with a $150 non-refundable pet fee for bringing Highlander.
