Default wrecked the s2k ( sad day )

So I had the s2k slide out from under me today. Im not gonna get into specifics but I lost traction in 3rd gear and the car didnt spin it just did a 360 flatspin a couple times...then hit a tree and smashed up the frontend when I hit a dirt hill of sorts. I dont know what caused the car to lose all traction but it could be the POS RT-615's. Those tires spin all day, and they were cold as I had just let the car get to 3 bars on the modifry ECT. Either way, I have not contacted my insurance yet as I have some questions for you guys about how to handle that....

Basically I have nearly removed all the turbo mods off the car. I didnt want the insurance adjuster to see all the mods, so I was just gonna put the stock intake, exhaust manifold, cat, and mufflers back on the car so it at least LOOKS stock to some extent. It is sad to say but I hope they total the car out so that I can get a good chunk of money, pay off the rest of the car and buy it back and part it out for you guys. I am pretty sad, but its time to move on now. I cant afford this car right now because of several things and now this just makes matters worse.

If any of you all have some advice on how to deal with insurance and mods let me know, I have allstate and they are good but I dont want to get screwed. I have a police report and noone else was involved. I have full coverage so I hope they take care of me, but like i said anyone with experience with insurance companies please chime in. I know my rates are going to SKYROCKET and this is why the s2k just isnt a car I can afford anymore

I love this forum, and Ill still be around...just not gonna have the S anymore. Take care guys.

dude so sorry to hear this tragedy. good luck, i hope you get over this as EASY on you as possible.

edit: they'll total you're car if they need to. if you have a third party (GAP) insurance that will take care of the balance between market value and what you actually owe then you're good except for your deductible. they will probably drop you afterwards. your rates will go up, if you have another car maintain coverage with them (or another company) or try to be included in someone else's policy just to maintain coverage that way there's no gap in your insurance coverage so in the future the next insurance company won't question too much.

Kudos for being adult about it. If you have a police report, then you should be good with your insurance company. Some companies like State Farm cover mods as well. But probably safer to have taken them off.

More horsepower is like sharpening a knife... it works "better" but it can cut you deeply.

Do you want to shave with an extremely sharp and unforgiving blade? Well, lots of boost without traction control and real-world conditions... dangerous for a reason.

Hope things get settled and sorted for you.

Sorry to hear man, tryuly a sad day.

You will easily get your money back because im sure the vultures here have already filled up your PM box wanting all your parts. Just dont short change yourself and blow off all the low ballers and you should get good money back from the parts.

Damn Andy,

Dead Zero and now you! Sorry to hear...I know Camuman spun his 615 a lot also. Glad your ok. Wish you could keep the parts and get a new S but you will be back. I sold my first S and it was not long before the itch started for another. Good luck with whatever you do.

Damn sorry to hear that. I would pm kutsujula as he recently had to go through this. I am sure he will have valuable information to give you.

Did you ever get the car on the dyno with new coils?

I know this a bad time but you did mention a possible part out. Could you put on the top of the list for the manifold, WG, BOV.

Damn another s2k down sucks man. Just put back as much stock parts you can. Was it raining?? If the crash was due to raining or something natural like weather your insurance rate won't sky rocket. What did you put on the police report?? but you should be fine and insurance should cover everything
