what does it mean to be an S2000 owner?
what does it mean to you?
I will do my best to explain how I feel about my Rex. Its from the time you open the super cool door handles to the time you sit down and you realize how the car is focused on the driver, every instrument and even the center console is angled toward the driver. its when you turn the key and then put your foot on the gas and feel the amazingly smooth rotary engine. Its the sound of the twin turbo's spooling and running @ 8100 RPM. Its being thrown back in your seat shifting from redline in any gear. Its the sound of the engine as it begs for higher RPM's. Its the agility of the car as you take curves at amazing speeds as the car is so responsive and not even a tad of understeer or over steer. Its the feeling I get when I look at the outside of my car and realize that the car was released in Japan in 1991 and still looks like a new design. Its the way everyone comments on the car. Its the rare occasion I get to see another one on the road. Its the elegant simplicity and lack of gadgetry. Its the feeling of having a 2750 lb car that has everything it needs and nothing its doesn't. Its the feeling of having the most HP/Liter of any stock car on earth. The feeling of having the only sportscar in the world without cylinders. Its when you take that sharp turn at high speed, downshift into 3rd gear and slam the accelerator.......
Its when I stop my car, park it and look at it and say, DAMN!

Its from the time you open the standard door handles to the time you sit down and you realize how the car is focused on the driver, every instrument is angled toward the driver. Its when you turn the key and then put your foot on the gas and feel the amazingly smooth 4 pot engine. Its the sound of the VTEC running @ over 9000 RPM. Its being thrown back in your seat shifting from redline in any gear. Its the sound of the engine as it begs for even higher RPM's. Its the agility of the car as you take curves at amazing speeds as the car is so responsive. Its the feeling I get when I look at the outside of my car and realize that the car was released in Japan in 1999 and still looks like a new design!

Its the feeling of having a car that has everything it needs and nothing it doesn't. Its the feeling of having the most HP/Liter of any stock NA car on earth. The feeling of having the only sportscar in the world without a clock. Its when you take that sharp turn at high speed, downshift into 3rd gear and slam the accelerator.......
Its when I stop my car, park it and look at it and say, Bugger me that was fun! Did you see the look on that idiots face .....

That was so original, where did you come up with that?
BTW..I LOVE S2000's but.....
"Its the feeling of having the most HP/Liter of any stock NA car on earth"
This statement is wrong. a 1991 N/A mazda RX7 has 160 HP and 1.3 liters that = 123 HP per liter. The RX8 that will be out soon has 250 HP and 1.3 liters in N/A form. I think you meant to say...." themost HP/Liter of any stock N/A PISTON engine on earth. Also the RX8 will have a higher redline too from what I have read.
No Clock in the 2000, huh? My rx7 doesnt have one but the stock radio may have had one. But I will say I have no cup holders! (cup holders belong in SUV's).
I just got back from driving my car when I wrote that and was really wound up! I have to say that in stock form I relate the RX7 and S2000 alot. I think they have alot of similarities, but I was just curious what it was that made you guys like your cars. But the lackluster of responses I guess the enthusiasm is not as good as I thought.
Anyway...Black is a good choice for your S2000, my car is black too, love it!

I'm not sure how to answer this question without getting into a long philosophical dissertation. I will say this though, after just 3 months with this car I realize now I should have done this many years ago! The concept that comes to my mind is Fountain of Youth, this car rejuvenates me.
