Default Differential Removal Experts

i need your help, how do i get the differential back in? I was able to remove my differential with success even though it took me a whole day but now how do i get it back in. My jack doesn't support it very well.

If anybody in OC that has a low profile jack with a large surface that can loan it to me for a day, tomorrow that would be great. Thanks.

lift it up into place and bolt it up ?? I don't remember it being very difficult. A whole day to drop the diff you must've been doing something wrong I think I could drop it in like an hour/hour and a half.

First attempt at any mechanical experience ever so that why it took so long and i was being extra careful as to bag everything into seperate bags so i won't lose them and know where they go later on. Forgot an important step to dropping it so spend a few hours doing it the hard way.

the diffculty i was having with lifting it on the jack is that, it won't stay still .

I did mine alone. putting it in was always easier then dropping it for me... maybe be more specific about what the problem is.

the problem is getting to stay on the jack, it doesn't really balance out to jack it up.

i didnt use a jack to do it until i had it up in the car.. if thats ur only problem... then perhaps paul is right.. get another person or start pumping some iron my friend haha.

i suggest getting under the car while you jack the diff up to support it with ur free hand..

ill come by and do it for u for a fee if you give up. PM me if interested.

thanks but i used two jack and a wooden plane to keep it stable and got it up : D. Should i be alarm that when i was draining the differential, a metal piece came out? I test drove it after putting it on and it seems fine. no clunking or anything abnormal. Should i be alarmed though? The piece was the size of a pencil eraser.

was it the cap at the top?? there might be a problem later on down the line.. sounds like a tooth or something. maybe take a pic and post it. is the diff a used one?? possibly taken apart before? they mightve set it too tight and it caused some breakage.. these diffs are finicky and if not done right.. ur gonna end up shelling out more dough to fix it later down the road.

glad u got the diff in tho.
