Front caliper re-builds - where to get parts.
I thought this may be the best way for this to appear in a search next time someone has sticking front calipers.
This weekend I re-built a front caliper using a replacement piston and seals from a supplier in the USA.
The supplier is www.rockauto.com
The piston is DORMAN P7572S and was $13.66 each
The seals on their site are listed as rear but are the same size as the front (And do fit. This is what I used). When you buy a re-build kit from Honda for about £50, it contains a fluid seal, dust seal and pin guides and a few other seals. Really, all you need for the re-build is the dust seal and fluid seal IMO.
The seals are DORMAN D352020 and were $2.30 a side.
I ordered on Tuesday night and the parts arrived on Friday via FEDEX. Shipping costs are around $30 USD but even so, I had the parts to re-build both front calipers for a grand total of £62 shipped.
Unfortunately they don't supply the rear pistons so looks like we are over a barrel in terms of getting them from Honda in the UK unless I can find somewhere else that supplies them.
Front caliper re-build pics from start to finish can be provided if anyone would find them useful.
Given the costs, I don't know if it would be worthwhile any of the traders getting a batch of these in for re-sale.
I ordered a few more than I needed but some of the parts have arrived wrong (Their mistake but they have been brilliant in getting it sorted and issuing the credit). I will have a couple of sets of pistons and seals to put up on the FS board later next week.
Hope this helps given I expect we'll see a lot of sticky calipers over the next few months.

There should be a Faq on this subject as its a growing problem with this car, Im going for aftermarket ones next year as Im sick of issues like these with the brakes.

The problem could easily be solved with the right "few pence" item if I can find them.
It just needs a way of securing the seal between the dust seal and the piston to keep the water out.

My S is currently sitting outside not moving due to brake siezing on passenger side. had the other side done few months ago at a cost of £370. i would rather repair it this time as it would be far more cost affective. some pics and a guide would be great if anyone can oblige cheerz.

You always have the option plating your existing piston once you've cleaned it up and removed all the rust.
Problem is, when you remove the rust there's usually pitting. Plating a pitted piston won't help.
I have to do my drivers side front this weekend as my other pistons hadn't arrived when I did the passenger side. All I did then was clean up the drivers side one but it's leaking fluid past the seal due to the pitting.
