I am not dead, arrested, or in a mental hospital.
I've been extremely busy, in the field almost every day installing soil vapor extraction wells and soil vapor probes, installing groundwater monitoring wells, excavating soluble hexavalent chromium contaminated soil, using ground-penetrating radar looking for underground storage tanks, soil sampling, groundwater monitoring.

Thursday I was excavating soluble hexavalent chromium contaminated soil from a plating shop in Monrovia. We hit some very hot, bright yellow soil. Within about 10 seconds I had a headache and the room was spinning. I ordered everybody out of the building -- about 50 people. I and my crew put on respirators until all the nasty stuff was excavated and in a roll-off bin outside. It's a good thing we train for this shit and have safety meetings before project startup.

I had 3 safety meetings last weekend. We had to be safe. . . several times.
