Default Fixing the PWJDM Carbon Intake's BRAAAAP noise

After a few weeks of trying to fix all the issues with the Password:JDM carbon intake, I think I'm FINALLY DONE! It's taken so many hours of reengineering and labor, but now I can finally rest.

All you have to do is buy about 6 square feet of Dynamat to line the inside of the whole air filter chamber and lid! After adding all the Dyhamat, the enormous amount of rattly noise is all gone, and you just hear the "good" intake noise. It is a little quieter than I would like, though ...

I think I've added about 6 lbs to the air filter chamber, but it's worth it!

Then add another coat ...

I think it's important to mention that I tried doing just 2 square feet of Xtreme dynamat at first, but it didn't quite eliminate the noise. I had to add another several square feet of the original dynamate (multiple layers) to really take care of it.

BTW, I didn't intend to use 2 types of Dynamat. I just made a mistake in ordering the wrong type on Amazon when I got the "original" Dynamat.

Wow, I really need to do this, my intake doesn't make the braaap sound until after a few days, the bolts seem to loosen up, even after I use loctite. Do you notice this sound?

Also sometimes I get so irritated I just take the lid off of the intake.

I left the lid off for a while too, but that defeats the whole purpose of the intake ...

very good to know.

i swear my intake sounds better after just a few pieces of dynamat on the inside of the chamber that's between the filter and engine. i didn't put anything in the lid area.

I wouldn't feel comfortable putting Dynamat where you did. You will never know when it could come loose, and be ingested by the engine.

Don't add any more Dynamat than you have to. I regret adding as much as I did, since it is now quieter than stock. The sound quality is better than stock, but the volume is way down. Now I might have to get an aftermarket exhaust ... :|
