Default Legalis R + Test Pipe (+ header?)

I'm trading my Invidia V3 dual this weekend for a used Fuji Legalis R. Basically, what I'm looking for is an exhaust that won't drone on the freeway, but has a nice (hopefully deep) sporty tone that can be heard but isn't obnoxious.

Will I need to combine this cat back with a test pipe to achieve the sound I'm looking for? I also eventually hope to add a header down the road as I'd like to have all the breathing mods before I get a tune. However, I'd like to stay away from anything that's going to make the exhaust raspy or even worse, the dreaded Honda fart-can syndrome that we all try so hard not to be associated with.

Any input here would be appreciated

Hello;

In my opinion you are selecting a great exhaust. I've had mined since 05 and it really sounds great. I've had several comments from passengers on "how quiet it is". I have only run mine with a TP so I cannot comment on its sound with a cat.

The only other exhaust you may want to look at is the Tanabe Touring Medallion. I have one on my 07 Si and it is even quieter than my S2000. I have NOT heard one on an S, but look around for some sound clips.

Nice! Glad to hear that you like it.

Most of the youtube videos I've seen regarding the Legalis show it to sound exactly like a stock car. In truth I'm hoping for it to be louder than stock and sporty, but nothing like the Invidia I've got now. Does it even sound at all like a modified exhaust?

To reiterate...I have not heard it with a cat...maybe it is just like stock with the cat...I do not know?

With the way I have mine with the TP it is just a bit louder than stock. Maybe check the vid in my sig to get an idea...the dyno runs are in 4th gear. It is very nice for a DD.

I think your making a good choise with the Fuji. All the videos ive heard there is a definate difference from stock. there were some on streetfire but I cant find them anymore. sounded perfect to what I wanted.

From my experience drone comes from a loud straight through exhaust and the rasp and noise will increase when a test pipe and header are added, and all the reviews ive heard say the fuji is pretty quiet.

be sure to post vids!!!

I absolutely love mine. It took a LOT to finally swap out my CR exhaust...but I'm glad I did

Search tanabe s2000 on streetfire.net
I have several videos on there of the stock tanabe, the tanabe with test pipe and the tanabe with no resonator.

Tanabe isn't really an option unfortunately, unless somebody comes forward and either wants to buy my Invidia or offers me one in trade.
