I always like to know why someone is selling something so here is my sob story.
Well, I got really fired up while watching the Tour de France in July and decided to start cycling again (I made a short run at cycling several years ago). I bought everything one would need to be a semi-pro cyclist. There were a couple things I neglected to factor into my usual haste to buy cool stuff. The first was that I quit cycling before because I'm built like a linebacker and am so uncomfortable on a bike that it's painful. Second, I already have too many hobbies, and I'm about to take on a new role at work.
Anyway, I have a pretty mint Chase Race Hitch for 2004+ S2000 that I paid $400.00 for, plus shipping, on July 27, 2009. It fits fantastically well. I have an AP2 Mugen exhaust. The Mugen exhaust hits the hitch. All I had to do to correct this was put a little rubber tape around the hitch to fix any vibration. I believe the hitch fits with most all aftermarket exhausts.
I paid $274.48 for it from RackOutfitters.com. My car is pretty low, and I thought I was going to have to modify the rack to make sure I wouldn't rubbing in my driveway and over speed bumps. I never bottomed out, so it works perfectly without any need to modify. Another advantage to this rack over others is that it only weighs about 25 lbs. You also don't have to worry about the bike bouncing around and rubbing the paint off your bike frame. If you wanted to reduce weight further, you could easily cut the tubes short and remove the parts from the 2nd bike mount to make it a single bike rack. I was going to do this but never got around to it.
I neglected to take a picture on the car, but I assure you it works perfectly.
Price? Let's say $250 shipped OBO. I'll cover Paypal fees.
Bump for an AWESOME hitch. I have the same, but I paid a little more .
I didn't know that the Mugen AP2 hits the hitch. I was planning on getting that exhaust. It's actually listed as one of the exhausts that fit. Oh well.
I think AP1 clears, but the threaded cylinders touch the AP2 exhaust. All you have to do is buy some heavy, high temp, rubber electrical tape, and it works fine. You just have to replace the tape every couple thousand miles. The vibration eventually pushes the tape toward the back of the cylinder.
^^ the AP2 hitch will not fit on the AP1 unless you get the AP1 plates for the hitch. I did some research prior to buying mine because I thought I could get a used AP1 Chase hitch for my AP2 for cheaper. I couldn't.
Hey, are you selling your Mugen AP2 exhaust? If so, I'm interested in that.

Thanks for answering that for me. I appreciate it.
