Default Alignmet specs for a track only S2k

Hello Everyone,

I just finished building my S2k that will be a dedicated track car. I soon post some pics. Next week will be the first time taking it to the track. I have Tein flex master coilovers and I now need to get the car aligned. I do not want the car to just have a regular alignment. I want to know what you track guys recommend as far a very aggressive track alignment so I can tell the shop who is doing it what I want. I will also have it corner balanced.

Thanks!

A really aggressive alignment would be -6 camber front and rear with 1/4 toe out front and rear....

And 25 degrees of caster so that -6 turns into -16

Thanks guys. I searched and saw all that. It is just a jumble of posted specs from mostly auto x people or just guys with lowered cars. I really would like to hear imput from some road racers on the specs they tried and what they fell is best. Those links did not help much with that.

You have to figure that out on your own.

There isn't any magic numbers that are secretly going around.
Go buy a tire temp reader and start learning. http://www.longacreracing.com/

If you want a starting point you can start with 2.5f 3.5r I'm not a fan of lots of caster so I run 5 but most run 6.5 roughly, you can either run 0 toe in front and maybe a bit of toe out if you think you may want better turn in, rear toe for me is tire dependant but I usually run 1/16th total toe in.

What macr88 suggests sounds reasonable.

Personally I'd go with something like:
-2.5-3.5 camber all around
0 toe up front, ~5-6 caster (not a big fan of max caster for track work either)
2x .15 -.20* = .30-.40* rear toe

Adjust from there to balance the car to your liking.

Regarding tire temps, one thing to know: even temperatures across the tires is *not* what you want. You want the setup that minimizes lap times. Which usually has the inside running a bit hotter than outside.
