The rear quarter is consisted of a inner and outer layer that is bonded together at the lip, when you cut the lip+ more off the two layers are no longer bonded

How much is typicaly removed from lets say the edge where the lip starts up the quarter panel? 1 inch or 2 or more and how should I determine how much? I am thinking of going with 17" or 18" wheels and possibly in a 305 or 315 wide, remember this is to put the power of my V8 to the ground. I know we can run a 295 in the rear with the right off set and rolling the fenders.

Just curious...What tire sizes do you think you can fit in the front wheel wells if you are planning to run 305-315 in the rear wheel wells?
