Default "CLICKING SOUND' from the rear end-

During moderately hard runs, I notice an occasional, single loud click when making a normal launch from a standing start. I also notice an occasional single "clunk" from the rear end when coming to a complete stop. Are these the sounds I've heard referred to as being of concern, or is that some kind of more continuous clicking? Thanks-

I really started noting this on mine as well. I hae close to 30K miles on the car, normal to medium driving.

So far there have been two diff and tranny oil changes...one at 10k, the other at 20K, and third one on its way in a couple hundred more miles.

As I drove to work today, I could replicate the click and thud on demand....thinking to myself, that this is what the "Clicking Rear End" thread in under the hood forum is most likely about.

Time to do a thread search.

the click you hear on start is your inner CV joint taking up the slack in rotation and leaving a nasty dimple on the housing.

Mine started clicking at about 10k miles. The differential blew up at 25k miles. It's been at the shop since August 6th. The differential assembly was on backorder.

Get it checked!

I had the clicks at about 10k miles. I took it in for some tsb about clicking rear end. They did the TSB and no more click. Was this some lame cosmetic fix or is this TSB an actual fix for the clicking rear?

Hmm...I always thought it was my exhaust that was making the noise. Maybe I should bring my car in and have it checked out. Where exactly is the noise coming from in the rear?
