Default seat locks

I just picked up a Pole Position, and when I went to test fit, I realized that I have seat locks on my seats!!

Are these factory or from Kodokan_4?

How do I get a key?

They are Kodokan_4's seat locks. You will need to contact him via PM. You will need a close up picture of the head of that lock so he can see the pattern. There also may be another owner in your area with a key that fits.

I thot Kodokan_4 had those giant cylinder locks that fit over the whole thing.

What do u think about the safety of these locks?

Are the sides smooth and imposible to take off with a undersized socket or gator grips?

Kinda troubling that someone else might have a key for it...but i know Kodokan makes u jump thru some hoops to get 'em.

Thanks for the info board.

First, those giant cylinder locks are something else. i have no idea where those came from and if that is even an option for the seats.

Second, the OEM wheel locks are made by the same company that makes the seat lock. There is a limited number of keys possible, and IIRC the OEM locks have only 12 or so keys. So if you owned all 12 keys, you could remove any OEM wheel lock.

The same applies to seat locks. Limited number of keys possible. This is one of the reason Kodokan_4 makes everyone jump through those hoops. If only S2000 owners have access to the keys, there is no way for a thief to collect them.

The heads are hardened steel and have a tapered head. So they will take some time to get off even if you can. Lock only slow down a thief if they really want to steal anything. Hopefully that time will cost them by getting them caught.

I have never heard on a set of seats secured by these locks ever being stolen. Not once.

Hmm, very interested, do you know kodokan is still ordering these?

I would like to just slow ppl down as much as possible forcing them to give up or tow the whole car...cause at that point i've lost.

Went to the dealer and they do not have seat locks, so these must be aftermarket. I pm'ed Kodokan_4 yesterday but have not heard back as to if this is his product. I emailed McGard, who most likely made this product, and they gave me an email for a guy with:

Honda S2000 Seat Locks;

International S2000 Club

named Peter... Dunno if this is Kodokan_4

Otherwise does anyone have an extra Key they want to get rid of?

Peter is Kodokan_4. He is the single source for this product. He does have a day job is not on the boards daily. So take a breath, he will reply.

there are reasons he takes the precautions he does. I would hate for thieves to get their hands on the locks. I know peter asks for the vin number of each car the locks are ordered for so if your car has them he might be able to sell you a new set with same locking key. but he will ask you to verify your ownership with you proving proof of insurance and copy of the registration.
If you fail to be able to meet these things it must mean that you plan on stealing some seats that have the locks on them. And I hope to God you fail.

nope... just want to switch my seats! I have all that info and more, so he can ask and I can provide! Good point on the vin... hopefully that makes it easy.
