Default Off to get some aluminum to fix the floormat

I don't like the way the drivers side floormat tends to bulge between the pegs. Looks like crap.
I've warmed the mat and flattend it out, tightened the hold down pins.... the pins still migrate towards each other, and the mat bulges up.
I'm going to get a peice of aluminum strap, perhaps an inch wide and 1.5 ft. long and drill two holes with proper spacing for the mat pins to keep the mat pulled tight. I'll try to weasel the brace under the OE carpet so you cant see it.
I'll take pics.

If you decide to send the prototype to production, I'd be in to buy one

I'll be interested to see the pictures. For the life of me, I don't think I've ever seen my floormat bunch up between the pegs near the seat, if that's what you're referring to.

Same for me, but everybody has their own ingress and egress issues as well as what they do with their feet. I think if this is happening for Jeff his solution is a good one.

For me, I have worn the paint off a tiny spot on the lower dash, way towards the outside, it's the part of the dash that is covered up when the door is closed. I have never felt my leg bump the dash, but apparently my leg is so close to it my jeans rub the dash in the same spot, thus, no paint there.

And no, I'm not riveting an aluminum plate to that section of the dash

You boys and your mods

I don't have trouble with the mat either. And ya'll got nothing to say about the difficulty of entering and exiting the S2K until you have done it in a skirt

Nice work Jeff! Looks like that was a real problem. I've never seen one bunch up so badly.
