I am posting the maps that show our drive (see bottom).

As for a text description of the drive, we'll hand that out at the meet. If you want a map, print one of each for yourself and bring it along

Directions to get to the start...

There are two possible ways for you to get to the meet:

(1A) Join a convoy from I-68, Westbound parking lot. The Sideling Hill Exhibit Center is around mile marker 75, just West of exit 77. If you are coming Eastbound I-68, then go to exit 77 and double back. See: http://www.watershedradio.org/october2001/...102601sidel.htm

We will try to use the long RV parking spaces, right where the entrance is... hopefully they will be available. Pull behind a S2000 already in a space or start a new one if necessary. The convoy will leave Sideling Hill at 10:30 to travel to the group meeting place, the "Roadkill Cafe", a quaint place that has a small restaurant, quick-E-mart, no-name gasoline (89 octane), sovenirs, and bathrooms.

The directions to the meet, when traveling from the Sideling Hill Exhibit Center: I-68 west to exit 72, "Scenic 40 West". Do a quick left-right to go over highway and go West parallel to it. Travel 1.5 miles, then go right on Mann Rd. to get back over the highway, and make an immediate left West to stay on Scenic 40 West. From there, travel 1.3 to North Orleans Road, turn right...

(1B) For those going directly to the Roadkill Cafe mentioned above, Take I-68 to exit #68, then go North only 0.2 miles to "T". There will be a Exxon station on the left, if you need a fill-up of brand-name gasoline. At "T", turn right to go East on Old National Pike. Travel only 0.1 miles on Old National Pike and turn left onto North Orleans Road...

(2)...To continue your journey to the "Roadkill Cafe" meeting place (from #1A or #1B above): Zero your tripometer when you get onto North Orleans Rd... which becomes North Rte. 26 after crossing PA state line. There is a stop at 2.8 miles where you must turn sharp left to continue on 26N. After a total 4.3 miles from the tripometer reset, make a left turn immediately before the white Fairview church. This is Crooked Run Rd. Travel 2.3 miles on Crooked Run Rd. to "Roadkill Cafe", a gray cinderblock bulding on right. Don't worry about parking for a picture, we'll do that later somewhere else.

The Cafe will graciously be opening an hour early at 11:00 for us to buy things we need for the trip's picnic lunch break, including drinks, snacks, sandwiches, etc. We will leave the Cafe at 11:45 to start the actual run.

Destiny2002-

I think you are destined to become one of the official s2ki.com *Mapmakers* of the century. It looks like an unbelievable route... Chubby Checker would be proud (hint: his #1 hit song )

We have not needed to change the maps in any way since the original post.

I'm going to close this thread... please post any comments/ questions on Destiny2002's "photo" thread

I'll leave it Pasted for a day or two, so the lucky drivers can relive the *mastery* and *craftsmanship* of Paul's MAPS
