Default Issue Thread: Reebs and Gidgy, Softtop damage

Good morning.

Purchased a Soft top 1/15/10. Due to injury and weather opened the soft top 3/25/10. (I get it i waited 2 months) Top is dented bent and has a tear. I opened the package in the presence of 3 CO's. Reebs has refused a refund said the top was perfect when he shipped it. So i gave it to UPS they said it was improper packaging. Reebs now has my money and the top. IF 2 MONTHS WAS NOT LONG ENOUGH FOR UPS TO IGNORE ME THEN IT SHOULDN'T BE LONG ENOUGH FOR YOU TO DISMISS ME. I want my money back.

From Shipping company to Gigdy:

"Dear Eric Crawford

We received return of above mentioned shipment sender Reebs Merani on 04.02.2010 without being informed earlier as the shipment belongs to 01.15.2010 and a damage inspection scheduled on 03.29.2010
Please be noted that if you should have any damaged delivery you should have contacted with proper paperwork and pictures showing the damaged packaging and contents.
As of now Reebs Merani has also been informed that we cannot go and dispute the shipment with damaged items as we do not have any proper information.
Please get in touch with Reebs Merani for further details.

From Gigdy to Shipping Company:

"I am confused who you are and why you have my package. I though UPS was inspecting my package and I did not know they were sending it back to the shipper after they did this. Much less giving it to who ever you are. I was unaware of any paperwork that was needed. Please contact me as soon as possible so we can clear this up as I am now out my money and my package and am becoming increasingly upset."

From Shipping company to Gigdy:

We are the shipping company working with Reebs Merani and the package forwarded to UPS on our account number.

And anyone who has bought from me in the past can tell you IF anything arrives damaged and is brought to my attention in a TIMELY fashion then they will always be taken cared of. You came to me 2.5 months later. UPS did not say it was improperly packaged, they said your claim is TOO late, and you can't do a PayPal dispute because you are TOO late.

I am not wrong. I just like UPS and PayPal can not do anything because of the amount of time that has passed since I sold you the soft top.

And for the record... The soft top was not dented nor tore when shipped out. I do too much transactions on here to know if a soft top is damaged or not.

And I do not have the top. It is sitting at the shipping companys warehouse.

Why would UPS pick up the item to inspect it if it was too late? I just called UPS they said the cut off is 9 months. Please post a copy of the paperwork showing that it was denied becuase of the date if it is an e-mail post a screen shot. AS OF NOW ACCORDING TO UPS YOU JUST FLAT OUT LIED. The package is at your shippers warehouse. IE i dont have it. So as far as I am concerned you have the package. They are your intermediary so the package is in your possession.

So ups managed to tear a hole in the exact wear point that 90% of s2000 tops fail?

From the shipping company...They said they never told you to ship it to there warehouse. They CC me all the emails you two were emailing eachother. I have 30 day guarantees on all items I ship. I have never failed to help any customer of mine if they come to me in a timely fashion. It is not my problem you left the soft top in its PROPER packaging for 3 months until you checked it. This would not be an issue if you did not wait.

And do not get things twisted with UPS, those are false accusations. I am hearing other things from them. You even tried to bill the shipping to the UPS warehouse on my account! Thats why they emailed me to dismiss the invoice charges.

What really amazes is me is how little compassion and ethics you are able to show reebs. I wasnt allowed to lift more then a plate of food due to a herniated disc in my spine. Much less a install a soft top or carry it around to open the thing up.

And you act like the fact that i waited 2.5 months has some how screwed you. All it did was to let my money sit in your account and gain interest while I stored your soft top that had a hole in it.

I want my money back.
